AutoX 8-12-07 Bristol CT Vids

My first AutoX experience went extremely well. I didn't win anything (finished middle of the pack for my class) but i had an awesome time. hopefully with more experience and my suspension set-up installed soon some vicotories will be in my future hehe. here's some vid of a few of my runs. i was the only max at this event but wud love to see more. enjoy

I can't believe they have the stop box coming right at the timing trailer.

haha yea i know.... it actually got a little hairy at one point when someone in a 300z came in too hot across the finish got sideways and drifted through all the cones at the end... in the process he ran over and cut the wire that was attached to the trailer for the timing boxes... needless to say we were at a stand still for about 15mins while they fixed it lol

at an event a few years back a car couldn't stop and hit a port-a-potty with someone in it

I've never seen a car get sideways in a stop box or deceleration lane....that guy must have had some serious lack of braking skill...

Love the loop in the beginning. How was the competition?

yea the loop was a great feature. in the beginning there were actually 2 loops worked into the course but as more ppl started to show up (140+ cars all together) they decided to take it out so they could allow more cars on the track at once to speed up the event.
the competition was really good..... in every class the distance between class leader and last place was very close maybe 2sec?... the event was very large too (as i pointed out before with 140+ cars)... i was very impressed

a couple weekends ago at ripken an s2000 spun out after the finish and missed a parked car by like 3 feet. also i have been sideways thru the finish many times: my car tends to rotate when i lift off the throttle during a turn

yea it was in bristol. i wasnt paying attention enough to tell u if it was at firestone, lol i'm not too familiar with bristol. i know its off of the road that espn is on because we passed in on the way up. it was a few miles up on the right.

edit: nope, it was at Rowley Spring company, if youre passing ESPN on your right, take a right onto Redstone Hill about a mile or 2 up. its on the right on that road.

they had that fairly bad wreck 1-2 years ago when a National guy apparently had a brain fart and t-boned someone else (it was a Celica? No?)

Yeah a guy driving a celica in the pro class completely missed the first turn and continued straight towards the finish lane where a first timer in a 240sx with a skyline front end was finishing his first run. The celica locked up his brakes and tboned the 240. both cars looked to be totaled. there was a thread about it somewhere around here.
