Wish me luck. I'm running a local event tomorrow in Wisconsin and Craig Mankiewicz is signed up in his '89 Honda. Forecast is for rain so maybe that's good since I have little chance in dry.
(Craig is one of the nation's best STS drivers in the fastest Civic that he and Jason Frank drove at last year's nationals.) Although DSQ'd they had one run .6sec faster than Jason Rhodes 240SX.

Well Craig was a no show due to rain all day. Did clean up on STS for first time this season by .4sec. Thanks James92SE for the new wheels! First time running new Bridgestone RE-01R's and OMG these are fantastic! In wet I had grip - in drying conditions I had even more. Can't wait for next event as car is best setup I've ever had in 7 years!
STS is my only competitive choice here still. STX against Chris Fenter's WRX? DSP against a Ford Focus 3sec+ faster than me? Or the variety of BMW's around? And I'd have to run 3.5sec faster in EP just to hold my index. (Evan I have your last trophy nameplate BTW)
Actually I'm very excited about this latest setup as I'm getting excellent rotation in sweepers like never before. Braking into turns the rear end comes around like I've only read about. Transitions and slaloms I'm slightly loose requiring throttle to pull it back in line. I took 14th on index which is my best finish ever I believe. (Yes my heat had drying conditions which definatley helped).
The last changes really helped
Stiffer rear springs
Higher front ride height
More postitive front caster (a little)
No more camber plates or metal top hats (yeah stock stuff)
Re-greased FSB so it actually pivots like it should
New fuel filter
225 shaved RE-01R tires 40lb/32lbs

Are you going to be at the Joliet event on the 2nd? If so, I can pick up my namecard there...
Let me know.

If you're offering tires, I'd GLADLY accept!
Yeah, The Lady is running quite well, actually. No more clutch problems, and the fairly new motor is running well. It keeps sucking down gas, though... might be something to check out.

If it helps I've got old Hoosiers all mounted up ready to go. Would 16" rims clear your brakes? They're A3S03 245/45 fronts on 8.5" Kosei's, 225/50 rears on 7.5" Kosei's I could bring with.
That would ROCK.
I haven't upgraded my brakes yet. I've still got the SE-L wheels on.
Depending on how well they work, I may buy them from you on the spot!

Get on the entry waiting list now if you haven't already. Because this is a divisional event sounds like they're allowing like 200 drivers instead of the 170 cap. You should get in.
I'll bring the Hoosiers. Oh, and bring lots of those $100 Ben's too
