A dealership to avoid like the plague: Freeman Nissan in Santa Rosa.

I've heard good things about North Bay Nissan (Petaluma) and one in Marin County (don't know where).

A friend has an 02 Maxima and takes it to the dealership in Concord with good results so far.

I have had years of good service from Napa Nissan. Service Manager is Bill Kenyon. 707-253-1551.

I currently use Stevens (Fred something is the service manager). I bought my 02 there. He's been pretty good so far. But all my work has been either warranty (3 recalls) and a freebie oil change. I've left my FSTB and RSB on all times and I have not gotten a complaint yet. But again I bought the car there so they might be less likely to bother me.

I've used them on and off for the last 10 years. Previously I've had good and bad experience with them. Just so you know what I mean by bad, with my 89SE I was getting a grinding noise from the front wheel, particularly noticeable on a turn but still noticeable on a straight away. After agonizing over what it could be I came to the conclusion it was the bearings. 1st call to Nissan, there are no bearings in a front wheel drive car, but they would look at car. Claimed I needed new front rotors and pads. Like an idiot I okayed this. Still have problem. Next it was rear caliper is frozen (which it was). Replaced, still problem. After $1500 they finally checked and lo and behold its the non-existent bearings (they did admit this on the phone). Not that they gave me a break on any of the hassle they gave me. But all of this was with a different service manager. This guy Fred has been good so far.

I used to use Capital but that was 10 years ago and I have no idea how they are anymore. I've also used Made In Japan (in Sunnyvale and Campbell). I've had okay experience with these guys but they don't do warranty work. Hope this helps.

just took my car in today. here's the list of everything they're gonna fix/work on:

(33K mile service)
-brake rotors
-fading window switch bezels
-drivers side seat crack
-seatbelt squeak
-radio rattle (gonna check that out on tuesday)

all's going to be taken care of. i talked to Fred, but he wasn't in today, so he referred me to Sal, who was equally helpful (VERY, quite surprised). Thanks for the recommendation, buddy. Steven's Creek Nissan has my A+ for nissan warranty work.

does anyone know how long paint chips will be covered until? i'd like to get that covered, if possible.
