Kansas City Area - Recommend State Line Nissan
For what it's worth, if you live in or near the KC area, on the basis of my customer experiences to date, I can recommend State Line Nissan for sales and service. I am a car and detailing enthusiast and an **** retentive consumer researcher before I buy. After a several month detailed search and comparison of a couple cars and several dealers, I went with my first Maxima at State Line Nissan last August. My salesperson was unusually knowledgeable about cars and Nissans, as well as pretty candid about the strengths and weaknesses of their products, discussions had with very little sales hype. Even my wife, who loathes car salespersons kind of liked him (and that's the best ever for a car salesperson in over 25 years of car buying).
I do most routine work myself, but I've visited their service department 3 times for simple routine maintenance and for a recall notice. Although their dealership isn't as new, shiny and fancy as some others, their work for me has been quick, done right, and friendly. My car has always been returned to me without body scratches, grease spots, etc.
I really like the Maxima for the price point. My only regret is not waiting for the '02 with better headlights and some improved interior amenities for about the same price as the '01. But then again, they had a 2.9% financing deal for the end of year '01 that was not available for the '02 when it hit the dealers in Sept., and I needed a car then!
Cheers!
