AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COST. THESE GUYS ARE F**KING A**HOLES!!!!
I bought a 1997 Nissan Maxima SE five months ago. It's an auto, 55,000 miles, tranny and engine ran really good. Anyways, how to make it better than putting in a custom t/c and standalone management system?
The car has:
*T3/T04E turbo hybrid, non-brand name, just a rebuild using larger turbines
*370cc RC Engineering injectors (couldn't get the Nismo 555cc injectors in there in time, they're gonna go in my Z32 instead)
*Custom intercooler and piping
*Tec3 Electromotive Computer with Crankfire (Distributorless)
Yikes. Five month later (now), the car RUNS LIKE SH*T. It won't start in the morning, and when it does, idles really rough. Sometimes, while driving at low speed or idling, the car will just die. I guess it needs tuning, but Sleeper Motorsports does not know how to tune cars or do good custom turbo jobs. They kept blaming the car's engine, how the compression ratio was too high to advance the timing. Bulls*it. That's just detonation problems. Also, the 4th gen tranny is controlled electronically. Unfortunately, the Tec3 system does not do a good job of keeping the tranny in the right gear. Makes grinding sounds, poor acceleration. After confronting them for about five months, they told me they need to see the car, after giving me five months of hell and grief, not to mention not working on the car.
AVOID SLEEPER MOTORSPORTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE MONEY, LOSE TIME, AND LET LOSERS TOUCH YOUR CAR. My philosophy is: if you don't know what the hell you're doing, don't touch my car. I guess I took them for granted.
