insurance coverage?

heres what happened: coming home from a party saturday night and a deer ran in front of my car, i swerved to avoid hitting it and instead of swerving towards oncoming traffic i chose to hit the other side of the road which had a concrete wall. the car isnt in too bad of shape, however, $3700 is still a bit more than i can really afford to chunk out right now. I also cant really afford to report this to the insurance company. However, someone told me that if the wreck was cause by an act of nature (deer running out in road) then you are not responsible for the accident. I heard that the insurance company cannot put the accident against you in any way. They have to pay for it and your not even responsible for the deducable or anything, and that they would just be glad you avoided hitting oncoming traffic... etc. IS THIS TRUE? DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS? I really cant afford to have my rates hiked up again or risk being dropped. if thats the case then im going to just pay cash to the body shop.

thank you in advance

call the insurance company , dont give them any of your insurance info and talk (ask ) in third person and see what they say.

I agree with this as well, although most insurance companies that I have dealt with ask for your policy number and info before they will answer questions. Still worth a try though.
