Maximum Tuning

I visited Jeff at Maximum Tuning for my Variable Intake install yesterday. Maximum Tuning is still a small shop so there is a wait to get your car worked on. Probably best if you drop the car off with Jeff early in the morning and pick it up later. I ended up driving there then going home. Jeff called me up when he was almost ready for me and I headed over there.

First off, Jeff is a pretty cool guy. Easy to talk to, he doesn't mind you walking around your car while he's working on it. All a plus for me. I want to see what mechanics are doing to my car.

When it comes down to his work, it seems he takes pride in it. He doesn't cut corners. His install of my VI was very clean. He made sure he crimped little connectors to each piece of wire that went in the VI install. His mounting of the vacuum canister and vacuum switch were excellent. He was very careful while installing the manifold. He knew what he was doing. I'd definitely take my car to Maximum Tuning for any future work.

But to be perfectly honest. My VI wasn't working correctly when I left Maximum Tuning. But that was no fault of Jeff's. The instructions we were using was misleading. The vacuum switch configuration was different than what was on the install page. All the other electronics and vacuum tubing were installed perfectly though.

I'd like to chime in on this somewhat-old thread and say that Jeff does ABOVE and BEYOND EXCELLENT work! If you're not too savvy with automotive work, or installing mods, definetly have Jeff do it as you may find yourself in more trouble than you bargained for.

If there was a Mechanic of the year award given out, ( not sure if there is??) my vote would be for Jeff!

All of my work has been done by Jeff. No problems what so ever. His VB mod is great. How about we all chip in and get him one of those plaques from Custommaxima, and have Maxima mechanic of the year engraved on it and have it shipped over to him? Or we can all meet up somewhere and drive over and give it to him. He deserves it for the amount of quality work he does and the prices he gives.

My $.02

I'd be willing to chip in as long as you don't mind ordering from CM?

I really dont have much of a choice on this. I will also chip in,....BUT I WILL NOT DEAL WITH CM. I'll leave that to someone else. I think Maybe we should move this thread to the NE forum, where it cant get more notice from other ppl that use Jeff as a Mech.

Jeff is awesome - very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. It's a shame there's only one of him, anyone not within driving distance is missing out...truly a class act.

A set of gold plated wrenches from Craftsmen might be nice. Not too expensive either.

I think it's time that I say something about Jeff. I DON'T like him, he blew me off when I left my job to get the vb. He told me to call him when I get around the area(left the directions at home). Now I get around the area, I call him and he does'nt pick up the phone, and on top of that I call about 10times, hoping he'll hear the phone and still no answer. So I when home!!!!!!! He does'nt even call me the next day...... I need him to do vb mod for me still.!!!!!! Let me know JEFF Whatz up????????

I Didn't aspect this from a person so well know to the org.!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats also why I keep calling.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
