Hertrich Nissan in Dover,DE **WARNING***

I dont own a maxima, but this warning applies to Nissan/potential Nissan owners.

Purchased my 350Z in sept2003 from Hertrich Nissan in Dover Delaware. I only got one black master key and one valet key. I didnt know you were supposed to get 2 black keys until recently. Also, the car was missing the front tow hook cover and that was supposed to be ordered for me already. I called the service dept and they said to come in and speak to sales. So I go in to my dealer on thursday (3-18-04) to tell them about my situation and the missing key. And I also asked for my front tow hook cover that was promised to me by the manager Kirk (who no long works there).

So I walk in and Tina Wilson (sales manager) said she didnt have my 2nd key there and that there is nothing she can do about my missing tow hook cover. She also got very rude and asked why I hadn't gone sooner. I explained to her it was supposed to be ordered for me back in November, and no one called me. So after some fussing, she tells me to come back tomorrow and talk to the general manager. She then rolled her eyes and mumbled something to a fellow employee.

Today (3-19-04), I go and talk to the GM. I attempted to be friendly but he was very rude and made me feel like I was wasting his time. As soon as I stepped in his office I could sense attitude. Basically, he told me he doesnt know or care where my 2nd key is. He also said he's not ordering me the front tow hook cover. I told him I just dropped $35k at his dealership and they SHOULD replace a $15 piece that was promised to me. He said he didnt care that I've been a long time customer or that I spent $35k there. He said customers spend that all the time and he didnt need my business. He was a complete #**$*#. Stay away from these guys if you intend to buy a 350z. As soon as you sign on the dotted line they will treat you like $hit. There are far better dealers in DE. We were long time customers of them too. He said he didnt care about that either.

There are other issues going on and my father is already in contact with the Attorney General's office about them. It makes me uncomfortable that there is also a key to my car floating around there somewhere. But, the general manager of hertrich said "he doesnt care."

Be warned.

?! What a d1ck! If you're not exaggerating that is unbelievable he just told you he didn't need your business or cared about your problem. I only hope the level of service is better at a luxury dealer like Infiniti.

The more I read, the more car salesmen sicken me.

I agree. Definitely give them a call and write a letter to Nissan customer relations. Generally they are very responsive. It's kind of sad, but there are bad nissan dealers all over the place.

If a family member or friend is a high official in Nissan, terminate his Dealer's license

Power of the pen (and phone), bro! I'd do what Mishmosh and K Pazzo 6 said. Corporate Nissan IS pretty responsive to that kinda stuff, and they don't take kindly to dealerships 'smearing' their name up like that.

Hmm.. that's weird. For me when I got my Max, I never had any problems with the dealership (then again, it was in 1999). The staff was friendly and I had a great deal. What do you think about the service department? I think they are great also and if I had any problems, they were able to fix them with no hassle.

Whitemax99gle, a lot has changed since Chris Hertrich took over. We were long term customers of them since the mid '80s (uncle bought an '85 300zx turbo). And look at how we're being treated now

Hey guys. No exaggeration on my part. Everything I said was true. I am floored at the treatment I received. My father holds a respectable position in the state government and went and spoke with the general manager of Hertrich Nissan. Of course, the GM denied he was being rude. And he was pretty nervous about this post being on the internet. He agreed to get me the front tow hook cover at their cost. But it doesnt change the fact the way he treated me.

The updated thread is here: http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthre...threadid=66178

Thanks for the support and advice guys. I really appreciate it.

Unbelievable. Someone from Hertrich (most likely the General manager, wouldnt give his name but sounded like him) called my house this past weekend *****ing to my father.. He claimed I was a passenger in a blue 350z that "did a burnout on their property." He threatened to call the cops if anything similar ever happened again.

What's pretty funny is that I was over thunderz's house when this apparent "burnout" took place.

I mean come on Hertrich, like there are no other daytona blue Z's in Delaware. Furthermore, my Z is chrome silver. Hello!

Give me a break and stop harassing my house. Next time I will report you to Nissan North America for harrassment. I guess the general manager must of seen an asian guy in the passenger seat and figured it was me. Says a lot about their reputation. Furthermore, EVEN IF I WAS IN THE CAR, why did you call my house? I wasnt the one driving.

I guess your "great" customer service is why you've had the SAME 8 350zs sitting on your lot the past 2 months

Get a clue and stop harassing my family.

wow this situation is getting way out of control. the GM (assumed)? calls your house, complains to your father and accuses you of doing a burn out? now its getting personal.
