Where are good mechanics and shops in New York/New Jersey

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic or shop in the New York City/northern New Jersey area? I have been dealing with either Sears/Strauss type of places that are only good for oil changes or mechanics who don't know what they are doing or are trying to rip me off.

I've been going to charlie at mclane auto on mclane ave. in yonkers for years, great guy and will basically tell you what is needed and what is recommended, he isn't the kind of guy who will try to sell you things oyu don't need. Also, there is an autobody shop next to it which is good too, they do great work.

Any recommendation for Autobody shops around Hoboken?

Yonkers could work, but something in Hudson County would be much better for me.

I'm going to get some work done on my bumper. The woman who had it before me didn't seem to know that there was actually a back of the car.
