ok.. first thing first.. brians post concerning the fstb i ordered was anything BUT an attempt to reach out for informantion or ideas to how a problem could have occured with his product. it is plainly obvious that his post served one purpose, and one purpose only, and that was to attempt to poke fun and belittle the individual on the opposite end of that phone call.. there is no question about that , read it yourselves.

as far as the missing q & a's out of that convo.. (and take my word for it, the ones that do appear in his post have been severly distorted) here some of the things brain chose not to post.

me - id like to know what i need to do to return a fstb i purchased

him- whats wrong with it?

me- while i was expanding the bar, the part of that braket that hangs off the strut tower bent up about a 1/4'' and it hits the top of my hood if i try and close it

him- well i dont see how that could have possibly happened.

me- well i dont know, but it did.. mabye the metal is wasnt tempered correctly... what do we do about this now?


him- well send me a picture of it. if i cant determine how it happened i cant give you a refund

me- (dumbfounded)- what good is a picture of it gonna do?its off my car anyway, i told you it would have hit my hood. listen, im gonna return it, you can see for yourslef, it bent


him- well even if ya send it back im not gonna be able to give you your money back until i test it to see what happened.



me- that bracket is bent.. how are you gonna test it? r you gonna send it out to test the maluability of the braket to see if it was tempered correctly?

him - no

me- well then what r you gonna do to test it other than look at it? 2 minutes ago you told me to just send you a picture of it..??

him- listen, ive sold hundreds off these things without a problem, im not goin to give you a refund

me- ok. i dont what else to tell ya then. ill do what i gotta do. im gonna have to dispute the bill with citibank

me- no... he doesnt wanna gimme a refund even if i send it back. im just gonna have to dsipute the bill with my credit card.

in his initail post brain says i threatened the lady that takes his orders, in the last one, he says i threatened to cancel the the payment of my credit card.. BIG difference there pal.. HUGE difference..

brain also accuses me that my car must have been involved in an accident and im tryin to get the money back for the bar. aside from the fact that my car has full coverage and i am willing to give brain my policy number and insurance carrier so he can investigate a claim for himself,why would i go through so much trouble to try and save 100 bucks when my car would get fixed for free anyway (and we all know id probably walk away with some money in my pocket anyway after the car was fixed ). i was even willing to take an exchange cause i still want a damn bar!


as far as his cliams to the large amounts of harassing and abusive email that i wrote him concerning the situation...not true.. i wrote him one personal email , which is why he only had one to copy and post, all the other email i sent to him was merely a copy of what some of you guys wrote on the forum. thats it.. next...

brain questions my "SELFISH AND UNREASONABLE MOTIVATION".. well lets make it simple.. i have a fstb that cost me about 100 bucks, was only on a car for about 5 min, bent while i expanded it, and when i call the dealer, he , in not so many words, says.. oh well.. too bad.. thanks for your money anyway.. the fact that im out 100 bucks rite now is part of my motivation.. the rest....

"i told him to call addco himself", "it would have took 24 hours to remedy the problem but i guess he couldnt be bothered". ive been calling addco since the day brain gave me the number, all i got is machines. i left a message, waited a few days, called again, waited again, and so on.. when i finally started getting calls back it was early in the day while i was at work, i would call as soon as i got home, and get a machine again, and only have about 45 min left until they closed. true. if i had access to a phone all day im sure it wouldnt have taken so long, but i work on the street for a utility company and only have access to a phone minutes out of the day, not long enough to leave a number where i can be reached seeing im only there for a few minutes. anyway. last thurs i was able to use a phone cause i had to goto a safty training course, i talked to a man named pacho?? from customer service, he took all my info down and said it would shipped overnite.. its now tuesday and i still dont have it. finally dan osborn from customer service called me back today, appoligizing for not being at work due to an illness in his family, and asked what the problem was. when i told him my situation he asked how come the dealer didnt take care of this for me?? funny huh? how addco is asking me why cattman didnt call them and make all the phone calls themselves? brain.. call DAN OSBORN from customer service and ask him how many messages i left for him that you should have been doing for me before you question my "UNREASONABLE MOTIVATION".

as i stand rite now, i STILL have a fstb waiting to goto ups , and a rsb missng hardware,,the invoice dates on these are 2/21 and 2/22.. its over a month and brian has not done a thing to try and help me.. nothing.. he hasnt made one phone call.. all he did was process my credit card.. the motivation behind these posts is that i am totally fed up with companies (regardless of size) simply trying to avoid the problems and responsabilities that come with operating a business and not wanting to retund money that is ritefully mine after i worked my *** off for it.. brain.. do me a favor and at least call dan from addco and ask him how long ive been calling him before making outlandish statements.

 

Who are you pleading your case to, us? We can't do anything about it, nor would most of us after the ignorance you have displayed in so many other posts. If your looking for an apology, let me be the first. I'm sorry you feel that you got "screwed".


Thanks for sacrificing your hard earned money for the good of the Maxima community. Even if everything you say is true, it happens sometimes. But, the only way the lamb should be remembered is for dieing peacefully, and not carrying on. That's just annoying.


Does that make you feel better? I don't believe that you will swing Brian's opinion, nor do I believe that you have thwarted his future potential buyers very effectively. Had you made a simple argument without all the whining and insulting, you may have pleaded a better, more convincing case.

What exactly do you mean by "expanding the bar"?

I installed one of these and the process didn't call for any expanding that I'm aware of. Clarify this bc I'm trying to see your side of it. Tell me step by step what this means please.

thats because you have a stillen fstb.. the cheap ones are adjustable in length, they come with a threaded rod at each end with one a reverse thread, so when you turn it, it gets longer, thats how you expand it.. your suppose to put it on the strut towers loose, tighten the nuts, and then turn the bar (expand it) until it snugs up.. when i turned my (by hand)instead of the bar snugging up to the piont where i couldnt turn it anymore, the vertical part of the bracket that fastens to the threaded rod, bent up, causing the end of the bracket thats hangs off the tower to bend up too..make a long story short.. the fstb is useless

I am an architect that can design a 40 story bulding to withstand forces you've never hear of and a web designer/developer that is helping to improve this media that you use daily to brawl with some members. Both are, for the most part, desk jobs, does that make my worth less than yours? Our military forces are a perfect example of this. Men and women who work harder in a day than your day job pushes you, are rewarded for their thinking. Ultimately, some make it to the rank of General. When was the last time you heard of a General marching into battle?
