he said, ok, im sorry, but ill go ahead and ship it to you. i have the grill right here. BUT IM GONNA HAVE TO CHARGE YOU 60 BUCKS EXTRA SINCE I PAINTED IT FOR YOU (like he did me some favor by doing that... i get paint done free of charge at my work).

no call or nothing!!!!

so i call, and he said "oh we didnt have a box and someones car got broken into blah blah blah, i have the grill in my hand painted blah blah blah... ill ship it out today and it only takes a day to get there ups ground (only a couple hours away).

I can attest to at least 3 things because I was there, a customers 240Z did get broken into that day and Corey was working with the dude to get it resolved, I watched your grill get wrapped and boxed then taken to the shipper and lastly it looked great...

OK... SO I FINALLY GOT MY GRILL....

BUT MY STORY DOESNT END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as you can clearly see.... the mesh isnt cut to perfection like they said it would be (see where the mesh doesnt meet the frame)

the paint job that i paid for (that i was told would be free at first) was HORRIBLE. drips and chips

PER COREY (FROM REDLINE): "I WILL PERSONALLY INSPECT YOUR GRILL TO MAKE SURE IT MADE TO PERFECTION"

also, the mesh that was used was nowhere near the quality or appearance of the cts v grill they said it would look like.

the thickness of the mesh was not 3/4 as thick as the mesh of the cts v grill

the shine was not even half as shiny as the cts v grill

and the sturdiness... there is no sturdiness!!!

with the grill on the ground, you can see the waves in the grill!!

looks like cheap wire mesh that i coulda bought at a hardware store.

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.
.
.
.
.

so far, the only people that will stand behind that company are the people corey has done FREE jobs on. they are also the people he sponsored.

so it is obvious why they are trying to stand behind him and his company.

PLEASE POST YOUR HORROR STORIES ABOUT REDLINEMAX AS WELL

Hey bro -- for real this needs to be in the dealership vendor experience section...I understand you have beef with them, but they've been a strong supporter of the max for years...so take it up with them offline -- if you have issues post it in the vendor section or at least give them a chance to correct it --- and I am not sponsored by redline or any other company

NO NO NO, thats not fair. If I was buying a grill I would want to know this stuff.

+1 to Mike for bringing up this issue.

If a company cannot get their sheet together too bad for them.

I think there should be two threads, one about the product (in this forum) and one about the experience in the dealership vendor experience section. No one says they cant have the same information if it applies.

Is that the new grill you just received? The black one I saw at the shop did not look like that? Regardless I also would sent it back had I received something that was flawed. Yes Corey is my friend but when we work on my car I expect quality and business is business. So far knock on wood, I have received nothing less. Good luck bro...

I have to admit that their service SUCKS, they tell lie after lie...I will definitely not be a repeat customer (and I have easily spent thousands on modding the max, since I got it in Sep 05)

Nah, this needs to be right here for sure. All issues should start privately offline, but when it's starts to blow up like this, it's gotta get out in the open, but go ahead, give them a chance to fix it. Of course after a certain amount of attempts at fixing an issue, a good company will just give the money back (good customer service) and revamp their processes.

Not true, if he tried to handle this outside the forums and had a negative outcome, then were here for him and maybe with group input the issue can be resolved.

FOURM = a public place to give/get/comeupwith ideas. That includes crap vendors in any case.

I'm not even goint to mention a certain vendor that buys VIBRANT products and sells it back for 2 or 3 times the cost

Anyways, this thread belongs here so all 6th gen guys can get some feedback on the problem and if the vendor will do anything to solve it.

I emailed Redline with a few questions.... 2 months later still no response. I also know 2 people personally who have bought products from them, both seemed to have nothing but problems. I think when the time comes, I'll spend my money where the customer is first. Not where the only thing that matters is the profit. They need to do something about their customer service issues.... Cant wait to hear what all the "sponsored" guys have to say

Who might u speak of? Not like it really matters I guess, the Cattman exhaust consist of 2 100 dollar magnaflow mufflers and some piping and people still pay 800 bucks for it.

This is interesting to me as I have been contemplation on getting a few things from them. I live in DC and there shop is 25 mins from where I live. I can easily go to where they are for my products but this is a bad experience that he has endured. It seems as if he was patient with them and I lack that much patience. I would have blown a gasket by now with what I saw. I would like to see redlinemax come in hear and explain what happened. The door is open for them to come in hear and explain this. I would hope that they are working on the issues. I'm about to drop a few bucks into my car and some of it is allocated for their parts. I hope they come in here. I would feel alot better if they did. If I pay 1.00 or 1000 dallars for something I want my product to be good if not better than what I ordered.

Here's all I will say, having accidentally seen this thread

I can't make any excuses for Corey (RedlineMax) and any beef you guys have with him or his products...all I can do is add some information to the mix, just for reference's sake. You are (mostly) smart people, so it's on you to decide how much or how little the following factors weigh on good/bad service/parts. I will note that my banner says 'sponsored' by RedlineMax, but Corey doesn't pay me anything, I just know him (he's local) and wanted to give him some visibility - so I have nothing to gain or lose by lying to you guys. So....

- RedlineMax is a VERY small company...really just Corey and a couple other part-time guys who help him out - His only full-time staffer left a couple weeks ago.
- I'm not going to go into paint-job quality, etc (because I don't know), but whenever I go up to the shop, he's going crazy about distributors telling him products are on the way (when they're not) and fabricators doing work slowly or with poor-quality on certain things. So it's not just him holding things up in many cases, it's his distributors. I personally watched him send 2 or 3 grilles back to his painter to get re-done after he didn't think they looked very good. Not sure how this one slipped by
- I will tell you from personal experience: Corey is a great guy, and NOT trying to screw anyone. He's all about trying to please customers and friends and will generally go out of his way to make things right. That said, he's not the most organized guy on the planet, and he's always trying to do 7 things at once. Sometimes things get mixed up in the process...Moving into the new shop has taken alot of time and work too....
- He also spends alot of time trying to work with fabricators to develop new products (like the front lips, etc), which takes time as well.

The bottom line, in my view, is that Corey really does WANT to put out as many parts, products, and services for the Maxima community as possible, but I will be the first to admit he's a bit overwhelmed - Every time I go to the shop he's talking on 2 phones with customers and another phone with distributors (which is why it's sometimes hard to get him on the phone). Hopefully he'll hire someone who is hard-charging and organized to get things running more smoothly....until then, I don't know what else to tell you guys...

I don't expect anything I say to carry much weight in here, since most of you 6th genners don't know me, but ask anyone on the 5th gen forum and they'll tell you that I don't BS.....I'm just telling you what I KNOW, not trying to tell you that RedlineMax has the best service out there or anything.

BTW, no....I will not get in touch with Corey "for" anyone here....unless you paypal me some cash (j/k)....

Just to recap - I'm not excusing slow service or defective products - everyone deserves good service and products, but keep in mind in the VERY small Maxima-parts community things are not as easy (or profitable) to get done smoothly as they would be if we all drove Civics

(I'll also note that since I restore classic British sportscars, I'm used to waiting a LONG time for parts to arrive from the UK, and half the time they are for the wrong classic car....so I have alot of patience with car parts distributors.....the last time I ordered a clutch slave cylinder, it took 3 months to find and 4 more to arrive, haha)

+1 to what irish44j. I do know that Corey is a great guy but like he said very understaffed and overwhelmed. It sucks that this grill dilema has come to this. Hopefully it will all get on track and all these issues will be resolved.

OK so a couple of grills are fcuked and some of you are unhappy, this thread has turned into nothing more than a hatin thread. So Corey got a little egg on his face because he's a small company that got overwhelmed by all the great things he's doing.

This thread is NOTHING about the truth of RedLineMax but the truth about a problem with 1% of his product or service "A Grill". Where's the Thread for RedLineMax for the thousands of other stuff he did right!!!

You can't blame the guy for being pissed if his experience is as described. Actually, he should be commended for his patience. He waited weeks, and then got a very low quality product. From your perspective everything is fine and dandy becuase you are getting excellent service, but Mike has got royally screwed . I understand your allegiance to RedLineMax, but it's important to hear the good and bad before investing hard earned money.

No matter how understaffed, unorganized, not matter how many things are going on at once you should never pass poor quality on to the customer and make him pay for it. No excuse for that.

Even if the grill was in bad shape when he got it from the painter, he shouldn't have been forced to pay 60 bucks and lookin' at that condition of the grill it should have been free or greatly discounted.

It comes down to the Bottom Line.

If someone i work with has the Topmost intentions, works his butt off, and is the greatest guy.......... But doesnt come through and takes him 1/4 of the year to get something done, and gives me excuse after excuse.

Versus an absolute JERK who doesnt have great intentions, but comes through and is upfront with me.

Guess who i would rather do business with?

Well, i would say that i agree with everyone here.... small company having Serious Growing pains.... but instead of comming here and ranting just take it up w/ Corey. 95% of people here on the org know that redlinemax is going through alot,... and may be spreading a bit thin on some products...

IMO

If you don't like the workmanship return it just like you would with any other company.
