$59 pcv valve - Suburban Nissan in Michigan

They just quoted me an extra $59 for pcv valve replacement on top of the price for a fuel filter and coolant change. That's crazy. I can do it myself for $3 in 5 minumtes. Do they think I'm retarded?

purolator $5.00 at PepBoys, and $15.00 for an original nissan fuel filter. Oh and if the fuel line needs replacement its 5/16. Go to Autozone and specifically request good year high pressurefuel line (rubber) 4.49 per a foot, you will need about 1 1/2 feet! The dealer (northeast) wanted $25.00 for this very same rubber fuel line ! Do it yourself. Most (not all very small %) of these dealers are full of PIG SH!IT 96 auto se 166,400 miles All amsoil lubricnats/filtration, and a very very strict maintenace regimen, that would drive a dealer bonkers. Have them print you that stupid quote and then ask them what planet are they from?

Best Regards

Thats what they do.. shaft you like that on service. I suppose it takes an "hour" to replace that little piece of **** in the rubber line. It is quite possibly one of the cheapest car parts. PCV valve costs like 2$. However, dealers tack on an hour labor for anything that would take under an hour to do. I did my fuel filter in 10 minutes, all i needed was a screw driver and a replacement fuel filter + hose, all cost under 20$. Coolant? haha, Buy it yourself, find the drain plugs on the bottom, drain it, refill it.. check the level. run it a little bit, check the level again. done. Almost all Nissan dealerships I've dealt with were idiots. Do they just hire anyone or what?

Bill Cook Nissan in Farmington Hills is almost the same thing, but they do good service. I had a bad x-perience w/ Tamaroff a while back w/ a '97 Altima GXE Limited Edition, took it to them about 5 yrs ago to find a rattle, first they claimed that everything was fine then they hassled me, so i'll never do business w/ Tamaroff ever again. I haven't tried Suburban Nissan in Troy for service but the best Nissan dealer I've been to for service is Bill Cook. Btw how is the sales (new & used) at Suburban?

Like I said I sold nissans at dealership I wanted a pcv valve and they never stocked them. Ever wonder how they do a 60k warranty job? I had to go across the street to discount auto and buy one fore 3 bucks. Nissan service dept. sucks.
