Brown's Nissan took me for a ride (figuratively speaking ) on my '96 Maxima and Altima, and for some reason I decided to give them another chance when I went out for my 2000's. We told them what we wanted for the '99 Camry we only had for 10 months and they basically said forget it right there, so we went to Rosenthal in Tyson's Corner and they met our price and then some (gave us $1000 more than the NADA wholesale price). They weren't very organized which was annoying (esp. w/ 2 kids hanging on us and getting cranky) but I'm happy with the deals we got and the amount of effort they put into it. Walked away with the two cars below, plus 2 years free maintenance on both.

Thanks for the heads up. I got my max from rosenthal in 96. They have been great so far. Decided to leave this cause I don't see stuff from people in Northern Va that often.

N Virginia

I just moved to atlanta from north virginia and just wanted to say watch out for shehee nissan in manassas. They cut me a pretty good deal on my 96, but after that it was all down hill. A month after a took it home, they called me and said i had to come back and renegotiate the financing because they had screwed something up. Although i came out on top, i later found out that in the mean time they had not payed off the car that i traded in, and that my credit had been screwed. Then after moving to atlanta, i had a serious rear brake failure that turned out to be a result of having incorrect pads and the wrong hardware on the rear end. Peachtree nissan in atlanta said it wasn't covered under warranty, and shehee acted like it wasn't their problem, even though the car was supposedly Nissan Certified and therefore in great shape. Furthermore, when i bought the car, they were supposed to give me a new set of mats for it which they never came through with. They suck!! Stay away!!

When I went shopping for my Max back in 95 (a few months after the 4 gen came out) I went to Brown's and they acted like they didn't even want to sell any cars. The salesmen didn't know *$&%# about the 4 Gen model. In fact there was some guy in the showroom going off because he had just bought a 3rd Gen Max because his salesman told him the 4th Gen wasn't coming out for another year. He was stupid for not doing his homework AND for trusting a salesman.

I went over to Rosenthal the next day and they were great. One thing I did learn - never buy a car on a rainy day. I was sick for about a week after that.

I've had some friends go over to the Nissan dealership in Springfield (Mike Palone I think) and they have nothing but good things to say about them too.

Rosenthal

I had a decent experience with Rosethal myself... this is my second experience with them... I didn't like the financing process too much though (agreed VERY unorganized).. but after that hassle it worked out well. I really appreciate their service and parts department. (example Browns wanted 65 bucks for a FSB for my ol 99 Altima that I got a Rosental for 44... same part...what's up with that?!?). Curtis (Red Team) has been great!

Yeah, I bought mine from Brown's....

...because they gave me a good deal, but I agree their customer attentiveness and service pretty much sucked. I'd avoid them the next time around. I did buy my bra from Rosenthal and managed to get the parts guy down about $20 on the bra just standing there at the counter.

Also, AutoBytel used to use (or still does maybe) Rosenthal as its Northern Va. dealer, so that oughtta tell you something.

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP

Thanks so much.........
I was just in N.VA looking for a Maxima. I am from the MD area and basically I think I have been to at least 10 dealerships in the DC area.
If you are buying a used one i would say try to go to a dealership like infiniti or lexus. I test drove a J30, I30 and Maxima (a pre-owned)at Jim Coleman infiniti in bethesda. The sales guy was really nice.......he freakin gave the J30 for the day in order to convince me to get it.
Truth is...I loved the J30.....but its rear wheel with no traction control available. And i already got a rear wheel drive with no TC which at times can be "fun" in the snow.

Again, thanks for the heads up.

Mike

Brown's Sucks

A little late on the post because I just joined but I agree about Brown's. I just graduated from college in 96 and they had an ad in the paper for $3,000 of the price for college grads. I went in there, negotiated a price and then gave them the add. "Well, that makes a difference". Why does that make a difference, the ad didn't say "off MSRP" it said "FINAL NEGOTIATED PRICE". They were real a**holes! Went to Rosenthal and everything is fine. I did sue Brown's for misleading advertising and called the Better Business Bureau many times.
