Part Mart 1 auto body parts (good)
Part Mart 1 auto body parts (good)
When I bought my '98 max, it had a bad dent in the rear bumper along with quite a few scratches. I took it to one place to see what it would cost to repair or replace it. I didn't compare this one place to anywhere else, but they wanted close to $400.
I decided to look on the internet for different places to get parts, either painted or unpainted. I ran across a place called Part Mart 1 on Ebay. They weren't auctioning what I needed, so I e-mailed them and they were able to get me a rear bumper for $75. They also painted it for me for $85. Shipping added $40. The paint matched great(sterling mist), so I think it was well worth my $200.
They have two websites, partmartone.com and partmart1.com. If you look them up, these sites may look identical, but one time one of these addresses linked to what I think was their older site. The phone number and the e-mail address listed on their site may be wrong. The correct ones are maplenut@earthlink.com and (541)221-7766. They told me their site should be undergoing changes.
The only thing they could have done better was in their communication. Obviously, their website with incorrect info caused me a little problem. After not hearing from them for a week after payment and an order confirmation e-mail, I e-mailed them and did get a quick response. I asked for a tracking number, which they said they would provide in a couple of days when they shipped it. I never got one; at the least I would have expected another e-mail confirming shipping. I got my painted bumper about 3 weeks after money transfer, which I guess is pretty good.
All in all, I'm happy with this company. I'm sure I'd do business with them again.
