Interior cleaning

I was just wondering what you guys use to clean the vinyl inside your car. I'm looking for something that mostly cleans without leaving too much of that artificial shine. Thank you.

Armor All cleaning wipes work purrrrdy good. The protectant is what makes it shine.

Or...just use all surface windex

For the parts like the dash I just use a window cleaner because I hate having shiny stuff on my dash. It attracts so much dirt so fast...

Armorall is trash. 303 is pretty universally recognized as the best stuff for interior trim. It's not greasy and doesn't leave your dash all glossy. It also doesn't make the black plastic stuff look greasy and streaky like Armorall does. It's good for door seals and all that too.

Also, I wouldn't use window cleaner because it will probably dry out the dash in the long run.

Also also, there was a discussion on Autopia about why silicone based products are bad for vinyl/rubber. They linked to this thread...

http://www.autopia.org/forums/showth...threadid=25513

Basically there are two types of silicone, and Armor All contains the bad one.

endus is right in his post (the Autopia information is good). 303 seems to be the detailer's choice, but is a bit expensive. I can only find it on the internet, too. Locally, I can find Lexol Vinylex, which is also highly recommended by detailers. It has become the only thing I use. It doesn't leave a fake shine, cleans well, doesn't attract dust, and contains oils and sunscreens to ensure my interior lasts. I also use it on my tires, and it leaves them a deep, natural black without all the fake, plastic looking grease coating. And every few weeks when I do clean my tires (because they stay good looking that long), I don't have all the brownish buildup coming off.

I only use Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner (one is a spray, the other is a lotion) Has UV 40 protection and I use it on all vinyl and dash parts.
