Removing Scuffs From Interior

I'm having no repsonses in the 4th gen forum so I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

Bought a 98 Max SE recently, and I knew it before I bought it, that the interior was about 8/10. It would've been flawless had it not come with many scuff marks around the glove compartment door, and scuff/scratch marks on the front door kickplates and the bottom of the interior door trim, under the speaker running along halfway. The previous owner had 2 young children, so I'm deeming that most, if not all the scuff marks were created by them.

It wouldn't have bothered me if it wasn't that visible, but it is. And it's noticably disgusting to look at when I have the car under the sun. I'm not sure if they are super deep or not, I haven't attempted to scrub them with a toothbrush (should I?) and I've only used vinyl protectent which didn't do anything.

How can I get rid of these dozen or so scuff marks off my dash? (I've heard using an eraser works well) Is it even possible to remove them using over the counter products or should I just get a replacement piece from Nissan (if possible). I'm not even sure if there are places in my area that will fix vinyl.

Sorry for the long, and most ignorant post. I've taken an appreciation to maintaining my car now, not that I didn't before. Actually, my old car was driven hard, but the interior was flawless.

Looking forward for some responses. Thanks.

Isn't that some sort of adhesive remover?

I detail for a summer job and I have found that an all purpose de-greaser such as Simple Green works the BEST for scuff marks. It will not harm the trim or anything else. Just apply with a scotch brite pad and rub lightly until the scuff comes out.

Thanks.

Couldn't find Simple Green around my area, but I did spend almost an hour trying to scrub the "scuff" marks off with a scotch brite pad and lots of water. All it did is surface the scuff marks even more, which now leads me to believe that it isn't scuff marks that can be removed.

D'oh.

What do to now? Get a new dash piece?
