Meguiars Deep Crystal Car Wash. Comes in a big half-gallon jug for $5.00 or so at WalMart. you only need to use 1 ounce of soap to a gallon of water according to the jug.
1/2 gal = 64 ounces
64 car washes
Works well for me.

Re: Soap?

I use megquiars (pink gel stuff) which I like a lot. I don't mesure becaues it's recommended that you use a 5 gal bucket and fill it atleast 3gal so you're not using a dinky 1 gallon bucket and picking up the dirt that you just put in.

Pretty much any purpose-made car shampoo that is not dish detergen will work fine. Some smell better and offer better lubrication than others, and some also suds more if that matters at all to you (I hate suds personally).

My current favourites are Zymol Auto Wash (the "cheap" blue stuff) and Mothers Trigger Wash.

BTW, 2 buckets are better than 1 huge one. I only mix up about 1 gallon myself.

Come to Monday's detailing chat - the topic is STILL washing!

I love Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo. However, I am also trying out the Blue Coral as a cheaper alternative.

Armorall Car Wash - It seems to leave the black plastic and rubber items rich looking.

I use the cheapo Zymol stuff from autozone. Smells gooooood. When I run out I may try something else though...Griots or Meguiars most likely.
