best swirl remover?

my 95 max has swirls in it, possibly from my wash mitt or chamois...i dunno...Anyway, I've been reading many posts and have found info on the following swirl removers:

3M™ Perfect-It™ Swirlmark Remover
Xenit by Stoner

Which is the best?

Technically, Xenit is not a swirl remover but a tough stain remover.

Your best bets for swirl removal would be:

3M Swirl Mark Remover
Meguiar's #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish
Menzerna
Meguiar's #9 SMR 2.0
Scratch-X (for more severe swirls)
Klasse All In One (for light swirls)

Keep in mind that some of the products that Prinz mentioned have different strengths. I don't know much about Menzerna, but of the ones he listed, #83 is the strongest, although not dangerously so. It really all depends on how bad your swirling is. If you're not sure, try something mild and then step it up a notch if that doesn't work fast enough. Most people could probably get by with owning a swirl remover and something like #83, as having too many products can sometimes be just redundant.

Yea i have a 89 max and I also have swirls in my paint, probrably from my lack of knowledge in detailing and washing. I have scratches in the paint that are a eye sore, but there depth is not deep enough for my fingernail to get caught in any of them!!! I have used meguairs #7 glaze with a no.2 cut grit. Well let me start from the begining i use meguairs 3 step cleaner, glaze, gold glass wax. I also, have used scratch X along with Clay all by meguairs!! No luck! My outcome is temporarily hidden the swirls but once the sun hits it after a day or so they re-appear!!! Oh i also use a orbital buffer with terry cloth bonnets, use foam applicator pads, and wash between each application!! The shine is great, people walk up to me and ask is the car is just been washed even when it is dirty!!!

You have and have used Meguiar's #2 Fine Cut? How did you apply it? I would use that product by hand if you lack a proper polishing machine - it'd probably work better. #2 should be strong enough to wipe out those swirls permanently - unless you're introducing new ones (hope your wash materials/methods are safe). If you're not tired and sweating after using this one your car by hand, you're doing something wrong. Given those products I'd do: #2, #9 or step 1 pre-cleaner, glaze, wax. Give more attention to those scratches with the #2. Foam wax applicators or a good quality terry towel should be okay for working in the polishes. HTH...

Well I have the 3 step my megauirs along with the no 7 #2 cut I apply everything by hand and them remove with a orbital buffer. Making sure not to lean in to heavy on the paint, but it rotates but as you know never in the same position twice. The no.7 seems to be more like a lotion if i rub in between my fingers i dont really feel any gritty materials? I have bought another glaze that i really like from a guy online DC auto care Don the owner has some good stuff, @ good prices!! But back to my problem, needed to know what should i move to next to level the clear coat? My scratches can't grab my finger nail if i run my finger over them, but is really a eye sore. I will take pics and send them to you so u can see!!! Let me know

Now you're just confusing me! What do you have? You're throwing names and numbers around carelessly. Do you have Meguiar's #2 Fine Cut Cleaner, or do you have Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze, or do you have both?

They're very different products...

Slow down and be a lil' more clear!

I've used it on isolated scratches and it seems to work well. My guess is that it would be about 'medium' on the abrasive scale. The finish was dull after I applied it, tho. The shine came back after an application of Menzerna final polish.

Maybe try it on a 1'x 1' section of your hood first?

I hate those car wash brushes, too.

The scratch x is good but make sure you put a good coat of wax on afterwards
