forget the dust on the exterior, help me out with interior!

my interior is all black (leather) and the dash is black too and i just think its IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of the dust that collects on the dash. i clean it and the next day, i see white stuff on my dash again. how can i prevent the dash from collecting dust? its fookin ****in me off

 

There's not a lot you can do, but I have found that my car gets dusty faster when I haven't vauumed/shampooed in a while. Try shampooing the carpets and see if that helps.

 

i got the same problem,except i use those swifer dust cloths they work pretty good for getting ur dash dust free.

in that case then i gotta use a swifer dust every 12 hours ! LOL

 

I keep a dry microfiber cloth in the glove box. Great for picking up dust while sitting at a light, in a parking lot, etc...
What kind of vinyl/plastic dressing do you use? Some attract dust more than others due to static electricity and/or silicones. I only use 303 Protectant now, and the dust isn't bad at all. I used Lexol Vinylex before 303, and Meguiars Natural Shine before that. With each change of product, the dust attraction got noticeably less. With a proper application of 303 (spray on, wipe off), you'll have a satin/matte finish that is advertised to repel dust, and last 3-5 weeks. Not to mention the UV protection.
Also vacuum and shampoo like Endus suggested. That by itsself should help tremendously. Don't forget to Q-tip your vents, especially the center ones. You'd be surprised the dust that just waits in there to blow out on your black/woodgrain plastic center console trim.
I read on another site where people were making their own filters from standard house AC filter media (you know, the blue flimsy panel looking things). They cut it to size/shape, then install it under the vents' cowl intake. I'll be trying this soon just to see how it works. Supposedly really cuts down on pollen and dust entering the car. I wonder how a tack spray or K&N oil would work on it, too.....

microfiber cloths work great for me!

 

i just got myself the armor all glass wipes/ cleaning wipes and protectant wipes. the protectant wipes seem to remove all the dust and give the car a NICE shinny look. it got rid of all the dust very nicely and the shinne is amazing. i recommend the protecting wipes by armor all to everyone. glass wipes and cleaning wipes are useless unless ur windows or dash is really really really dirty which i doubt

 

keep windows & sunroof closed and you'll get less dust.

 

I keep a "mini" Californmia Duster in the car and just give it a quick swipe. It works real nicely.

I leave mines in the plastic thing it came with and put it right under the passenger seat I wipe the dash and stuff every other day.

 

my ricer friend has this static line thingy that hangs from the rear bumper or something and hangs to the ground. it supposively reduced static charge inside the car so dust won't stick to interior surfaces. does it work? i don't know, but i can look into it.

 

whats the result?
