Meguires Nxt Tech Wax!!!

This new product is amazing. It's a brand new, completely synthetic wax from Meguires. It DOES produce a great shine, but what is truly amazing about the wax is it's ability to remove swirl marks. I have a '00 sterling mist SE and No longer have ANY swirls on my car. All I did was wash, clay, and wax. I usually do a lot of surface prep, but I decided to not do it this time and see how good this wax really was. Lets just say I was impressed. On thier website, they have a mini video showing what the wax can do to a hood of a bmw 7 series. What you see in the video is pretty much the results you can get in real life. I also removed all the swirls from my girlfriend's 2003 RED accord 2 door. I know everyone on the org is all about klasse....but give this a try. I'll try and post pics later.

Just to let everyone know, it doesn't actually remove the swirls, it just fills them in (and not if they're very deep either).

For how long though, is the big question. A promising, if very new product from Meguiar's.

I jumped on the NXT bandwagon in mid January and have been using NXT on my Sheer Silver 2k3 since. After 2 applications of 2 coats each, I;ve come to come conclusions.

NXT is excellent in its' ease of application and look. NXT is applied easier than both Meguairs #26, Blackfire 2 and a couple other various sealants/waxes. NXT looks amazing. Even on a silver car you can tell the depth of shine and wet look that NXT creates. Amazingly for myself and several others, NXT looks even better about a day after its' initial application, kinda like the coler just pops out more.

HOWEVER, NXT does not have the durability of a sealant like Blackfire 2 or even a high grade carnuba like #26. After both applications NXT has lost its' beading properties after about 2 weeks. On the otehr hand, #26 kept beading for about a month and a half and Blackfire 2 has lasted as long as 4 months.

There is some debate about whether beading = protection, but for my money, if my car's finish isn't beading, it's time for a new application. That being said, it's back to Blackfire 2 for me, which I applied this past weekend.

(for those who wonder about BF2 and my Sheer Silver car, I got BF2 for my Girls Superblack 350z, and after one use loved the look and durability on my Max.)

ok........about the sealant/wax problem...........you can put this stuff on top of the sealant.......(blackfire/klasse/pro/whatever) In fact, you're supposed to. After your surface prep, you put on your sealant which SEALS in all your hard work. Yes, sealants last as long as 4 months. BUT, most sealants were never meant to create any real shine (yet some do). So after you put on your sealant, put it out in the sun. Let that sealant bake on and allow it to bond with the paint. Bring your car back in the shade, let the metal cool, and throw on NXT. The combination of protection and shine is perfect. You should be good to go. just re-apply nxt as needed...............'Nuff said

I think there may be some misconceptions about NXT's role. Meguiars markets NXT as a Last Step Product (LSP, term created by Mike Phillips who works for Meguairs and is active on the Autopia board). As a LSP it's directly competing with products like Zaino, BF2, Klasse Selant Glaze, as well as carnuba LSPs like #26, #16 or s100.

I agree that you can top any of the LSPs with another LSP for added looks. I see a lot of people topping synthetic LSPs with a carnuba like s100, for added depth and wetness.

In my experience however, if I find a product with a nice look to it and great durability, like BF2, there isn't a need for me to top it with something like NXT. If NXT had more durability, I would have stuck with it. Additionally there's a question about if you can layer BF/SG over NXT or vice versa. As Bman said, there's some question about NXT's "cleaner wax" properties. If in fact NXT has cleaning agents in it, it may strip any other LSP product you've laid down before it, negating the durabiltiy of something like BF2.

Again this is all my "opinion" and personal experience. Good luck with NXT, it's a spectacular product (and it's priced very well).

I am a Meguiar's fan for life!!!!!!! Their Nxt generation line of products is awesome, I would also recomend their Nxt Gen dash protectant as well it does not smear or leave a greasy unnatural look, just a beautiful shine!
