Question on .. Meguiars ScratchX ?

For those who have used it, does it work in getting rid of some of the light scratchs (spider webs) on paint?
if there are other products you specifically use, please post!

Thanks for the replies..!

I have used both Scratch-X and Meguiar's Gold Class Swirl Remover. Both are good products IMO. I use the Scratch-X on more difficult, but not real deep scratches. I don't know the seriousness of your scratches, but definitely worth a try. There are other brands like Mother's and 3M, but I haven't used any of those. I used Scratch-X on some bird crap that marked my spoiler badly. After 2-3 applications, I can't tell that it happened. Good luck with whatever you use.

2k1seae, thanks for the reply! Appreciated.!

Would you use StratchX on the paint (I'll try my best to describe) which after a claybar and wax, feels buttery smooth, but under direct sunlight, looking at an angle, you can see the spiderwebs, but you can't feel it. Would scratch X work for this type of scratches.. i'm not sure how coarse/fine this X stuff is...

I plan to use it on the hood/trunk/roof of the car. ..

Thanks again,

I wouldn't be afraid to use the Scratch-X on the paint. You might want to try it on a small area first and see what it does. Always follow with a good coat of wax. If that doesn't work, might have a professional give a recommendation. I use Meguiar's Gold Class products personally. I use the Scratch-X on problem areas, then Meguiar's Gold Class Swirl Remover and finally Gold Class Wax. Others here might have other products that they use, but this works for me. Good luck.

I have scratch X, it doesn't ever remove scratches per se, but hides them nicely enough. One on my trunk is hidden pretty well usually. You wax over top of it and it'll keep it nice a while. I use Zaino Z5 and Z2 myself, awesome on dark colors

Thanks for the advise. I'll keep that in mind when trying out the ScratchX. I've been using "Mothers" waxes and have tried their swirl remover but without success. Because of availability, I'll give Meguiars a try, i heard nothing but good stuff about it..(and other brands). But i don't hear much mention about Mothers waxes..

Thanks for your input as well. I also heard that X only hides the surface scratches and wears out over time.

Thanks guys..Good to know you 2 have tried it. appreciate the input..!

I think that Scratch-X would be safe for entire car, but I would use it only if the swirls are really bad. I usually use Meguiar's Gold Class Swirl Remover followed by Gold Class Wax (after thorough cleaning and clay bar). Just my experience.
