How about tires?

How do you guys clean your tires? I've never actually tried to scrub them clean before and I was wondering if you guys use special products or if you just wipe them down. Usually I just hose them off then shine them when I'm done.

I currently use Mothers Rubber and Tire cleaner. It's soap-based and it works well as long as the tires aren't extremely dirty. If you want a catch-all product or something that cleans more strongly, Eagle One A2Z is both a wheel and tire cleaner and is highly effective. It does tend to strip off all the previously applied dressing, but some people like to take it back down to bare rubber like this.

I use a fine dollar store brush to scrub the tires. I use a fine brush rather than the usually recommended stiff brushes because it's less liable to scratch the wheel and I feel it's better for reaching in between the lettering and ribs on the sidewall.

Cleaning them and re-dressing them every wash (unless frequent) helps make doing this easier. It helps their appearance because they will look more uniform and the dressing looks better/blacker this way.

All you have to do is just get some engine degreaser/wheel cleaner and use it on the tires when you clean the wheels. Then, get a $1 brush from Walmart made my Turtle Wax just for wheels, and brush them off. You will be amazed at how easy and cheap.
