Tire dressing?

What tire dressing do you use? I want something that lasts a long time, and gives good protection, but nothing too glossy. I've heard good things about Turtle Wax Emerald...

I hate most of the products on the counter. They just stay greasy and sling goop on the fenders.

The best of them for me is Stoner's "More Shine Less Time" with a very controlled spray nozzel. It requires little effort to keep it off the wheel and paint and if it is applied lightly there is little sling off.

It will not give that real heavy deep wet look shine unless it is over-applied.

Beware, I also use Stoner's window product that is great, "Invisible Glass." They come in the same style spray bottle and I once got the tire product all over the windshield!

I use 303 Protectant. It isn't really glossy, which I like and it lasts longer than any other product I've tried.

I also use the Meguiars gold class endurance tire gel and it works great. It is available in regular or high gloss and I also havent had any problem with it getting all over the car after a drive and it seems to last pretty long. It smells nice too .

I also use the Meguiar's Endurance. Easy to use, available in any parts store, smells nice and lasts a long time.

Meguir's Endurance is great...It lasts a long time and it smells really good. A little of this stuff goes a REAL long way, especially if you have one of those tire sponges.

I actually just used some Black Magic Tire Gel and it was just as good as the Meguir's Endurance. I found this and an applictor sponge with a rubber handle both at the dollar store for a buck each so was an awesome deal!!

I use Platinum tire gel and an eagle 1 applicator. It looks great after appication (not too shiny) but it only lasts a week or so and seems instantly gone when it rains. I've got 303 and look forward to trying it on the tires next. 303 is amazing stuff.

I also like the Meguiars Endurance that you apply with the tire swipes. I prefer to apply it just after washing the car while the tires are a little wet. Seems to apply better.
Since I have had trouble finding a replacement bottle of the Endurance I tried the Meguiars Hot Shine spray stuff. I don't like it. Your tires have to be dry and it does not seem to last long. Also somewhat difficult to avoid overspraying on your rims.

Meguiars is great, I've been using it recently as well. There isnt much sling off at all. The amount of gloss you get from it depends on how many coats you use. I use the Eagle One Applicator as well.

When I want a really high gloss, I use Eagle One Tire Wet. Thats the shiniest, but with some sling.

On your recommendation I tried the Meguiar's High Endurance yesterday and I must admit that I am now a fan and switching brands. Not only was it easy to apply but I did not have to deal with the overspray on the driveway and wheels.

Thanks guys.

I also like the gels, but find that in gums up around the lettering if you dont scrub the tires real well during wash. Stoners MSLT I found to be quick and gave very even coverage with little to no sling-off if given time to soak in. I haven't found anything that keeps up real well after a drive in the rain.

I am liable to use either Lexol Vinylex or 303, dependent upon what I am trying to achieve at the time.

I'm going to have to try the 303 at the next washing. I have a bottle of the stuff in the basement.

I'm usually a Meguires gel user. Goes on well, doesn't sling, lasts a long time and smells like yummy grapes.

Meguiars gold class endurance tire gel is what I use. When I smell it, I get hungry.

Turtle wax.

Turtle wax product for tires. Dont know the exact name it is in my trunk but I sware buy it . It comes in a box with like a 16oz bottle and an applicator pad. It goes on like a lotion really easy you let it set for like 4min then you buff with a terry cloth towel to a desired shine. By far the longest lasting shine I have ever gotten from a tire product .

Meguiars Endurance.

Some peeps off the org asked how i kept my tires like that. BTW, that's the shine after a good set of driving as well. The only rant i have is that after some high speed or aggressive driving, the stuff seems to have some 'splashing' appearance at the portion near the road contact area. That's probably because of the amount i used though.

Have you guys noticed how shiny and for how long tires on dealer lots stay? Well I talked to my Nissan dealer recently asking them what they use and the service guy said that they get this stuff in a big a$$ drum (!). He was not sure what the name was, but said that he will find out. So my next step is to sweet talk them into pouring me a QT or two to go

About 7 years ago I did just that, but it was not free, and quite pricey. The stuff had toxic style fumes that made you think twice about where to use it. The bottle even said combustible! And the worst part of this story is that it did not shine better or last longer.

I guess we perceive it as being better because most of their applications are on new tires that need little shining anyways.

That just goes to show why there are so many products on the shelves, different strokes for the folks. I threw a new bottle of that away because it caused such a mess, on the wheels, paint, and driveway. I went to the Meguiar's jell for control.
