Polishing the Max
Polishing the Max
Alright, this probably has been answered before, but I am just not finding it....
I want to polish and wax my car. I picked up some Meguairs #9 swirl remover 2.0 cleaner polish. Here are my steps...
1. was car
2. apply Meguairs #9
3. apply Meguairs Gold Class Liquid Wax (I have this now) or I could buy
Meguairs #26 High Tech Yellow wax.
is this good? should I buy some different wax or will the gold class work? Do I need to clay my car? it isn't that bad, just has swirl marks. Thanks.

Meguiar's Gold Class works for me. I would clay bar the car before polish and wax. I just did this on my Max this past week end. It looks great. Smooth as a baby's butt and shines like glass.
Your plan is fine, and you can use any of the waxes mentioned here after #9. Keep in mind that you should try to really work in the #9 or it's not going to be very effective. If your swirl marks are more significant you may need a stronger polish since #9 is quite gentle and may not remove them all by hand. It depends on if you want to go "all out" or not though, it's up to you. I would also clay it.
