Baked the headlamp open..now which..
.. type of cleaner/polisher should I use on the 'inner' side of the lense? Should I use Novus #1 or Plexus.?
and should I use a microfibre cloth to buff it? (would microfibre scratch the plastic?)
need your help...!
Thanks.

When I cleared my HID's I used Meguier's plastic polish with a MF towel on the inside of the lenses. Worked great.
I wouldn't think you'd need anything too abrasive. The inside of the lens ought not be scratched. Go with the least abrasive polish first.

we did the "JDM" style mod for my friend's RSX... damn, we really screwed up on those lens. They look sooooo blurry because the inside has alot of micro-scratches... I don't think the paper towels worked too well lol

Bluesbrekr; are you talking about the Meguiars Plasticx (i'm not sure on the spelling)..? I'm just worried about fine scratches if i don't use the proper polish and cloth. This is something i can't "test" before trying.. But thank you for your feedback though. I'm going to check it out..
Nadir_s:
haha.. I'll make sure I don't use "papertowels"..
Anyone else use same/similar products?
Thanks everyone..

I think meguiars has 2 different plastic polishes.... one is the universal plastiX and the other is a 2 bottle set.
I think plastix shoudl be good enough.

Use a high quality MF towel (Pak Shack or Yo Steve) and you won't have to worry about scratching.

Nadir_s : thanks for the input, i'm going to check out this other Meguiars polish since my exterior lense needs a good polish.
Bluesbrekr : I don't know where my MF clothe comes from other than it's "Made in Korea" and composed of 75% Polyester and 25% Polyamide.. ?haven't the faintest idea about MF's and different types of MF's. I'll try it with the Mirror Glaze 10 Clear Plastic polish (since it's safe for eyeglasses as well!)..
Thanks guys for the input. Much appreciated.

Hey guys,
I found that hand polishing the lense will do nothing no matter what I used (Novus or Plexus). So, I took it to a autobody shop and for a few $$, they used a 3M polish with a orbital buffer (I beleive had a wool attachment) did WONDERS for the exterior of the clear lense, but the 'inner' portion they said they had no way of buffing!
So that problem aside, I have another problem, the plastic lense is kinda "Yellowish" in complexion if i compare it to the other lense (not caused by the autobody). It's not as "clear"
Anything out there that I can use to bring back the clarity and remove (or rid) the yellowish tint.? Don't know how else to describe it, it's yellowish, like a piece of plastic that was out in the sun for too long.
Housecor: by the way, NICE picture of your headlamp!

If the yellow didn't clean up at the auto body shop I don't think it will ever be clear.

Max20SE00,
see housecor's write up.. step 3. the baking temp and for how long..
http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/clear_HIDs.html
I followed his instructions. I baked for 12mins (before pre-heating) and about 225 degrees..
hope that helps.
