clayed, polished and waxed my car this past saturday, how to keep the dust off?

spent 4 hours claying, polishing and waxing by hand. i was happy with the result but now after commuting 100 miles a day its getting dusty. the shine is still there and the paint is still smooth. but when the light hits the paint a certain way, all the dust show up. what do you guys do to keep dust off? whipe it off daily? i've got microfiber towels from costco that i can use to whipe but i'm lazy and looking for an easier way.

I use the "Calilfornia Duster" to keep pollen, dust, etc. off between washings. It's quick and easy to use. You can pick it up at Autozone, Advance, etc. I like it.

yep, the car duster is great. my car usually stays outside so it collects pollen like no other, every morning i wake up and dust it off with it. right now my car is in the garage till i leave for basic, so its been clean for the longest time.

you can try washing the car with NXT car shampoo. That stuff is supposed to repel dust.

do you re-wax after washing with the car shampoo? if so doesn't that negate the dust-repelling effect?

no need to re-wax after the car shampoo... you could if you wanted to.

it doesn't repel all the dust, but from what I heard, it does make a noticable difference.

I'm with everyone else, get a duster. They work great and will not scratch the paint. Just make sure to do it when the paint is cool.

Get some quick detail spray and Microfiber towels and wipe it down with that every few days if it's dusty.

Mine is garage stored and still gets dusty. The California Duster is sooo fast that it takes longer to get it out and put it away than to dust the car.
(When younger I had this trouble with other tools also)

After a layer of dust, I would hesitate to start using a detail spray. It justs seems like small scratches could occur without you even knowing.

Get the original "California Duster." Accept no substitutes - it truly DOES rock.
