I was doing some searchers on scratch removal on glass and came across some products that claim to remove scratches from glass by putting microscratches around the actual scratch to make it appear like it belnds in. The name of the company is www.janvil.com The company called this "feathering" the scratch. Has anyone tried this or had a professional repair some of the sctratches on their windshield and/or window glass from rocks, road debris, etc.? Just curious b/c i wanted to try this product for myself.

 

IMHO scratch removers, polishes, and compounds contain abrasives, thats how they get the job done... I use only clear wax or Rain X water repellant solution on my car's exterior glass.

 

Technically, there are dedicated glass polishes on the market. Two of them that come to mind are by Zaino (Z-12) and Autoglym.

 

Anyone else have any experience with using scratch removers for the windshield or glass? just curious...

 

what will happen if you use polishes or compunds with abrasives to get scratches out of your windows? what is the worst case scenario?

The reason I ask is b/c i have these circular scratches on the windshield I can see when the street lights hit the glass at night. What can I do about them? Can a glass professional help at all? thaks
