Interior/Dash cleaning
Interior/Dash cleaning
I have a 2005 Smoke SE and was wondering if there's anyone who uses any cleaning products to clean the dash. I use to have a '96 Max SE and I used armor all to clean the dash and other ares of the interior and it worked really well in keeping it clean and in good condition. But the dash of my 2005 seems to be of a different material. Not sure Armor All is the best thing to use. Suggestions?
For a good cleaning I'd use Scrubby Bubbles (DOW) -- it is a foaming cleaner actually designed for use in bathrooms and such, but is great on the interior of cars. If its not real dirty, probably just a damp rag would be fine. To dress it, either of PrinzII's suggestions seem right on.
For gentle but effective cleaning, use a Woolite/water mix in a spray bottle (6 parts water to 1 part Woolite). I use this on everything in the interior.
For excellent protection without a greasy feel/shine, I love 303 Aerospace Protectant. After applying, let it sit for a few minutes, then buff with a microfiber. I also like NXT Protectant applied the same way, but it is ever so slightly more shiny (whatever you use, make sure you buff it to remove excess). Vinylex is also good stuff. I used to use it before I found 303 a few years ago. To me, Vinylex is slightly more shiny than 303.

I've used NXT Tech Protectant on my dash before. I think it leaves the dash too slippery and too glossy. People don't like glossy dashboards because it causes more glare when driving.
