question about meguiar deep crystal 3step

isn't 1st step "paint cleaner" mainly used to get rid of tough spots (like minor scratch, bugs) not easily done by ordinary wash gel? so my understanding is that step-0 would be using wash gel to wash the car. then step1 to handle some special places...

another question: can someone tell me what do "clay" or "clay bar" mean/do? i owned a car for just a month, never know these terms. appreciate help in advance

The 1st step of the Meguiars DC System is just a very mild paint cleaner; nothing abrasive, and will only get rid of some minor oxidation/scratches/swirl marks. Recommended for cars with decent to good paint that just need some light cleaning.

A clay bar is exactly that - a bar of polishing clay that you use to go over the car with. As you go over the car with the clay, you remove contaminants and imperfections in the car's paint, creating a very smooth surface. Meguiars also sells a very good clay bar.

Yep, exactly. I had a minor spot on my left rear quarter that needed the 1st Step or the "cleaner" then it was a lot of elbow grease with the Polish (Step 2) and then the Carnuba (Step 3) After many hours though I got this result!

Meguiars Deep Crystal. Good stuff!

I like the liquid wax, much easier to put on and take off than paste.
