Alloy Wheels

yea i have alloy wheels on my maxima and their pretty dirty and getting really black from dirt and stuff like that. i tried cleaning them with regular car wash soap and a toothbrush but it barley gets anything off. could something like brake cleaner clean the black off of them or some other thing?

brake cleaner might take the black junk off, but it'll probably take the clear coat off too. I usually use Fomula 2001 wheel cleaner to clean my wheels. Tryi it.

Have you tried to use clay on them? Wash Clay then polish wax, treat em like the rest of the car.

You can use a wheel cleaner to clean them. I just use the car wash solution after I'm done washing the car, but that works best when the wheels are sealed/waxed. If not, the dirt/brake dust will stick much more.
I'd say get some wheel cleaner, then get some sealant and seal those wheels right away. After that, the cleaning should be a piece of cake.

Did the Turtlewax wheel cleaner work? I was at Walmart and happened to notice that the Mr. Clean magic eraser is now available for cleaning wheels. I can't say for sure if this is the same thing, but if it works on wheels like it works on the interior, this might have to be added to the collection of cleaning products.
