Used my porter cable for the first time today!
Car came out great, but I noticed that the my polishing pad started to get the hue of my paint on it. Don;t get me wrong- the car looks absolutely fantastic, I am pretty sure that I did not burn anything (its a PC- duh) I am assuming that it is just some oxidation that came off, but how does it come off if there is a clearcoat on the top? I dont get it. Can somebody explain? I applied at speed #3 and raised it to about 5.5 when it started to dry up to a haze. removed the haze with a MF towel. Its my first time and I am little nervous about what I saw on my pad. Can I get some info? Thanks
BTW, I used the lake county polishing pad with Sonus SFX 3 polish.

If the color of your car is coming off, it might be from the side moldings. It did for me atleast, cause I think the paint on the side mouldings is very thin, or its a 1 stage paint? I dont know. You would notice if you went through the clear coat, it would stand out in the paint. Dont stress about it.
I've had that happen, too. Just a light coloration. I know I haven't gone through the clear coat. I'm not exactly sure where it's from but as BlueC said I don't think it's anything to worry about.
I am thinking that the bumper might be single stage paint, or at least my cars bumper it is. The dealer resprayed it after scratching it up for me on a service run. I think thats probably it. And side mouldings? Are you talking about the strips along our doors? but whats the general consensus about our cars paint? single or two stage paint?
