How to clear up a cloudy lens?

My passenger side plastic headlight lens cover is still nice a clear, however, my driver's side is getting somewhat cloudy due to taking on more grime and road grit than the other side. It seems more marked up than the other side with fine scratches, etc. Is there an effective way to clear up this issue? I imagine some very fine abrasive of some sort must be needed, but I'm unsure how to clear it up. Can anyone help?

Novus has 3 different grades of plastic polish. Google to find out where to get some. There are some other ones, too. Plexus and Meguiers also make plastic polish.

Meguiar's PlastiX is what you can pick up locally. It's effective and quick. If that doesn't take care of the problem you might have to wetsand.

I agree with goaliekeg here I tried some plastx from meguiars and it took alot of surface scrathes off the lense and restored the clarity back to the plastic, good stuff!

I just wetsand the lens with some 2000 grit sandpaper, wet the sandpaper with the plastic polish of your choice and go at it.
