Thanks to all

I did my first major detail yesterday. Usually I would just wash my car, dry with a chamois, wax every few months, and would shine up the tires. This is how my dad did it and I really didn't know much else.

Then I bought my Max and found this website. I really love my Max more than any other car I've owned. Here is what I did:

Washed
Dried with a Microfiber towel (thanks for all the input in my how do you dry thread)
Clayed the car
Prewax cleaner and polish
Paint sealant
Finished with a coat of carnuba wax
Leatherique to the interior (will need to apply again to do some hard leather, but did soften it up)

Thanks to all that post on here and gave me some ideas to get this done . My car looks SPECTACULAR!!! If I can figure out how to post pics on here, I will post the ones I took when I was finished. This site is an awesome resource!

Can you also write the commercial names of the items that you used to do all that stuff? I never did detailing on my car, not sure if it was ever done before I bought it either. temperatures here are still in the 30s and 50s

I'd need to clay and wax my car even though the shine is still there all over the body . I just bought Hot Rims yestday. Need to buy that clay kit and probably NXT wax.

Sure, I used the Mother's Clay Bar, and then used the Wolfgang Concours Series Pre-Wax Enhancer followed by the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. Ordered these from Autogeek.net for $64 with shipping for the 16 oz bottles. I still have about 3/4 of a bottle left of each after doing all this and I am planning on doing my wife's SUV next. I also bought the leatherique 33 oz kit from Autogeek.net for about $75 with shipping. I am very happy with my results, and I am very picky.

Cool, do you ever go to http://www.kcmaximas.org/ ?

Try www.photobucket.com for hosting as well. It's free.

I didn't know that there was a KCmaxima website! Thanks for the link. I might have to check that out.
