Used leatherique
So i got the 16oz leatherique kit from autogeek.com, and its more than enough to do the whole car.
My passenger seat was cardboard hard, and its already twice as soft from only one application of Leatherique. I plan on doing it again when it gets sunny/warm. My drivers seat was not that hard at all, but i decided to do it anyways just for the helll of it, and now its soooo soft. I plan on doing it to the drivers seat again just because i wanna see how good i can get it.
So far from my personal experience, i would recommend this stuff to anyone with leather troubles. If ur leather is in terribly hard condition, don't be surprised if one application doesnt do enough, just do it again multiple times.
The kit came out to be around 55 bucks shipped BTW.

Got mine the other day (http://www.autogeek.net/le16ozkit.html), looking forward to trying it out, thanks for the info.

Thats the exact kit i got. Just make sure to not cheap out on the seats and apply a nice thick coat. Leave it on for AT LEAST 24 hours. The stuff is kinda hard to get off with Prestine Clean (included), but just scrub it a lot and u'll eventually get it off and leave the surface soft.

you dont have to leave it on for 24 hours. If its hot outside 4 hours is all you need. The oil is activated by the sun or heat and works the best if it gets really hot in your car. So apply it in the morning and let your car sit in the sun with all windows up so to create a steam room almost and then after 4-5 hours you can take it off and it will leave your leather looking and feeling amazing. A lot of money but definately worth it.

Mine only absorbed after 24 hours, but i guess thats because it wasnt very sunny/hot at all outside. mas20se, what do u use to take the stuff off? I noticed that its kinda hard to get completely off for some reason.
btw that maxima is definatly in my top 10 for 5th gen!

thanks, I used the supplied pristine cleaner and a bucket of warm water and rags. I sprayed the cleaner on it and let it soak for a minute or so then wiped it off then dipped a rag in warm water and made sure it was all off. Maybe it was hard for you because you let it sit too long, i'm not sure.

Are the Maxima's leather seats "coated"?
From what I've been reading theres coated and uncoated leather seats. If the Maxima's leather is coated then conditioning products like Leatherique, Lexol etc... shouldn't work that great because they won't penetrate the coating. Products like Klasse V-L-R which are designed to sit on top of the coating and provide a protectant should be used right? My question is this, I have a 2003 Max SE with leather seats. Is the leather coated or uncoated?
Thanks for you input.

I wondered the same thing, check this thread..

I'm waiting for a sunny day and a few hours I can let this sit.

Gonna do all seats again when it gets warm, thanks!

you want to try to remove most all dirt first. Wipe them down real good then vaccum. Leatherique is a oil which penetrates into the seat to renew the softness of the leather. After the oil soaks for a few hours in very hot temp. you want to take it off then clean the seats with the supplied pristine clean. Your leather will look the best it can look at this point if you do it correctly. Worth the money. A lot of money and a lot of time but this is the only leather product I will bother with for now on, the others I have tried cant even compare.

dude, if you think I am lying to you and all others you have posted great results from this product then fine, but I am telling you it is the BEST leather cleaner I have ever tried and I have tried tons of products with much disappointment. Trust me if you use it right it's worth it!

Yeah man Leatherique is the real thing, it actually works. I have tried tons of cheaper ones, and they dont do anything besides smell bad and make my seats feel terrible.
I have great results already, and i didnt even use it right!

do you have to use the pristine clean aftert the conditioner or can you do without it? also how does it compare to lexol? my leather is not in bad condition, but I am wondering if it would be worth it to try it....does your leather feel like that of a nice lexus or something now or what? let me know...thanks!!!

Lexol worked for me, and it's only $8. Clean first with lexol cleaner or use scrubbing bubbles, then follow with lexol. Use a generous amount, and let it sit for an hour before you buff off.
