yeah, i just took a hair dryer, heated up the plastic, and peeled off...it's a little time consuming, but it looks alot cleaner in the end. Also, get a bottle of goo-gone, or adhesive remover, as I did, and it cleans off all the gunk. You can notice it a little bit after you first take it off, but after a few days, it just blends in to the paint.

I also recently removed my pin stripe I used a heat gun which is a stronger than a hair dryer, It took about an hour, but I took my time, but just be patient, Its definately worth it in the end. Good Luck

Were any marks left?
Was the paint under the stripe darker? [because it wasnt exposed to the sun?]

any kind of sticker like that can be taken off with a heat gun, how hard it is depends on how long it was on there lol, if you have any glue left over on it just use a lil solvent or goof off type stuff and it will come right off

I removed both my pinstripe and dealer logo... it couldn't be simpler - peel the thing off! Catch one end with your fingernail (being as gentle on the paint as possible) and keep pulling, very slowly, until you get it all. I didn't need a heat gun or anything, and no scratches afterwards.

would leaving it under the sun for an afternoon make it hot enough to peel out the pin stripes easily?

Yes, that will definitely help make it easier. I recently took my pins off and it left absolutely no marks at all. I had a slight residue that I took off with plain rubbing aclohol. My neighbor said to stay away from the Goo Gone because it can be a little harsh on older paint. The alcohol did just fine with a little elbow grease. I then waxed it out. GL.
