3rd Gen side trim looks like $hi!

My 92 SE has a light blue paint ( if you know what color that is PLEASE tell me!!! ), and the side trim pieces have lost all the paint, straight rough white plastic. Does anyone know how on earth I could smooth these out and repaint them?? And as long as I'm here any suggestions on weather I should go stock blue or, go a highlight color???

Look on the driver side door plate (the one that shows your manufacturer date) and it should have a paint code on there. You can either have a body shop mix the paint for you or they can match the paint on the current condition of the paint. Since it's a 13 year old car, the paint may have oxidized, etc so it wont look exactly like when it came out the showroom.

get your base coat and clear here - www.paintscratch.com
buy 1 can of primer 2 cans of color 2 cans of clear.

pick up some GOOD masking tape and 400 grit sand paper.

tape off the car and sand down the trim. after sanding clean it well with a good prep cleaner. spray down some primer (if it's sanding then wet sand it smooth) then base and clear.

color...that's your call on what color to use.

i'm guessing your paint code is BG6

Those side trim pieces are only glued on (no tabs). If you want to repaint them and replace them, you can get them off with a heat gun and shoot them off of the car. Then you can just glue them back on.

A lot of guys just take them off altogether, but this can be quite a chore, since the glue is pretty hard to get off, even with stuff like glue gone or goof off.
