How to clean wax off rubber moldings

Hi everybody,

I waxed my car last week with some gliptone wax and i see that i got some on the rubber moldings (for the back window and the sunroof visor). i tried rubbing it off when i washed the car yesterday, but its still there. anyone know of any solutions/solvents that can take it off?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Toothbrush & toothpaste. Its a mild abrasive and it will take off the white wax left in the pores of the rubber mouldings. I usually tape off the trim before I wax with green painters tape so I don't have this kinds of problems. Also open the hood and spread out newspapers in between the wipers and the back edge of the hood to prevent them and the trim area around them from getting waxed.

Yes, I'm crazy.

That seems like overkill. I can wax pretty fast while still being careful.

I've heard of people having luck with the mister clean magic eraser (don't let it hit the paint though).

I think it would scratch it. I've never done it, but it seems to be rather abrasive. It may also have some cleaning agents to it which could cause some harm (I'm not sure if it's just a wierd sponge or a cleaner too). Really just a wise precaution to take.

DO NOT USE TOOTHPASTE!! it is by far, the single most, dry-rotting accelerator for rubber.

use, like you're supposed to, Back-To-Black (especially since its purpose is to remove wax residue from door trims, rubber moldings, and cracks/crevices).
