wax on wheels

can you use any wax on the wheels, or does it have to be wheel wax. the synthetic wax is supospose to handle high temperatures..... so would it make a difference? i have a gunmetal finish on my rim, and wondering if it'll help anything.

If they've been clearcoated, sure. My SSRs are clearcoated so I Zaino them every so often. Brake dust doesn't stick, they shine, things are good.

I wax my standard rims with rain-x spray (not the window stuff, the wax in the blue bottle) and a cloth. After one month with serious rain and some unplanned off roading, there were a few streaks from brake dust, but nothing on the rims themselves.

I used to use wax on the car and the wheels, but I switched to Klasse about 8 months ago. It works great on the wheels too and I get compliments all the time
