GRR! Left windows down....rained last night!

So yeah, the interiors kinda wet, or just damp, actually. But what's the best way to dry it out quickly? I took out the floormats, bottom of the backseat and the headrests and reclined the seats. Then I had the car running and cranked up the heat while i toweled everything down. Everything seems to work still: radio, windows, except for the sunroof! It was open, so I tried closing it, and it would go until just before it kinda angles up to level off. It just stops and is not flush with the roof of the car. I checked the rails where it runs on and tried to clean them out, (not much was in there), and still no luck. any ideas?

crappy morning
(this happens to pretty much everyone, right...? )

One thing you might want to be concerned with is mildew. If you know someone with a Bissel Little Green, you might want to ask them for it in order to clean your seats and the carpet.

If you got the same rain we had this morning - OUCH! We had almost 3/4" in 30-60 minutes. It POORED at about 5:30 at our house!

I would think that getting a shopvac or carpet cleaner would indeed be a wise idea to make sure you get all of the water sucked out. You might be fine without it, but might be a good safety measure.

Good luck!

well, around here, we only got about 3/10". I was at a friends house and wasn't expecting to stay very long, but it ended up being pretty much the whole night. poo! the first time it has happened. I just hope it doesn't smell... that's my worst fear. oh well, live and learn.

my brother did the same thing to his old civic EX coupe...he left the windows down and the sunroof open like 3 months after getting it and one night it rained pretty hard....when he got to it, there were puddles in the center console and the seat bottoms were completely soaked...everything else (like the carpets and the rest of the seats) were just kinda damp...anyway, he ended up leting it air dry leaving the windows open in the sun for a few hours, and up until the day he totaled it, it smelled like moldy @$$....i would definitely get a shop vac or something if i were you...even now (almost 10 days later) there could still be some water underneath your carpets and in your seats...

Try leaving the windows closed on a sunny day...thats the real test. If it doesn't smell then, then you're golden.

I agree with letting it air out. If you can get the carpet out take it also. Let it sit open in the sun. Let the car breath and get some type of mildew killer like Lysol, or febreeze and spray it down and let it air as much as possible. If the water is deep in in carpet try to get a wet dry try of vac and get as much up as possible. Just dont give it a moist enviroment to grow that **** mold/mildew
