Cleaned my carpet...Wow

I bought this car almost a year ago and hadn't had the time to detail it, only vacuum it quickly and wash the outside. I knew the carpet was dirty but I hadn't really looked at it that closely until recently. So here is the before:

As you can see the previous owner didn't give a **** about cleaning the inside of the car. I can't believe I've been driving it for a year like that. I'm kind of grossed out just thinking about it.

So here's the after pic:

That's after using Armorall w/ Oxy-Magic carpet cleaner. I sprayed it down twice and wiped it up, probably could do it one more time. I also used a shampooer from a local carwash on it too but it didn't make much of a difference after the Armorall.

Nice job. Maybe try cleaning the upper left corner again. Still looks a bit dirty.

Yep, it's not perfect yet because I ran out of time and Oxi-Magic, but it is pretty amazing what that stuff could do. I'm going to spray it down and go over it one more time and it should be good as new. I have to do the same for the seats now because everywhere I spot cleaned stains on the seats is now noticeably cleaner than the rest of the seat.

Wow, so this stuff removes grease and stains easily? You just spray on and wipe off? Doesn't leave a residue?

Here the product, directions and all:

http://www.armorall.com/prodcat/pages/oximagic.html

Yes it does remove stains easily, I think the stains on my carpet were oil/road grime or something. It dries off after "blotting" and doesn't leave any residue, but you can see that the carpet looks a little different where the stains were, but I think that was more from the oil or whatever it was eating into the carpet or something, I don't think the Armorall would leave anything behind.

Edit: The picture that you see there is after using the Armorall twice and then shampooing it w/ a carwash vacuum, but I can tell you that the shampooing didn't make any difference.

how does it smell? I don't really need to clean the carpets but i would like to freshen up my interior a little bit. I was thinking of using this to make it smell a little nicer plus clean some dirt off my black interior =P

I got a bottle for like $6 at Kragen, but I'm not sure how cheap you can find it anywhere else.

spot shot is AMAZING and it will get alot out. My favorite way to really get everything out it to use spot shot then use a steam vac over the whole car. It looks like new in no time
