Meguiar Leather wipes?

I just picked this up today and tried it on my passanger side seat. How does this rate versus all the other leather cleaners and stuff out there. I wanted to get my leather softer. Its like pretty hard right now. But after I wiped it, It just seems to have a wet look. Which looks great and everything. But I don't know if it will make it softer. In terms of getting the leather softer and protection will these wipes cut it ?

How often should one really wipe down the seats and how much time should i really give it before i sit in on the seat.

It's a marketing plot. The getting your leather softer. It only gives it a wet look, only for a few days to a week, depending on the use of the seats and how much you applied. It's really only for show use I believe. Cause no conditioner is going to make our hard leather nissan seats any softer.

Only way to get softer seats is to actually buy new leather, that's more than likely Italian, and not cheap.

I have used them, but only once or twice, then no more unless I'm going to show. I wipe them down then let them dry for least 30 mins before getting in the car. At that time I would not wear any nice clothes, hence there is a unknown chemical on there that I dunno if it would mess up any nice threads. That's just what I do.

They are not the best, Lexol products are some of the best products out. But, if you are using any product in cold weather, it is not going to penetrate the leather. What you should do is warm the car up, turn on the heat and let the leather soften up. By turning on the heat and warming up the interior, you are allowing the pores in the leather to open up, then whatever product you use can actually get into the leather itself instead of just sitting on top of it.

actually what i did was i wiped my passanager seat and then turned on the heated seat on that side. while i was driving around and cleaning up my car. Is Lexol a type of product i can pick up at a local store or are they online only types?

Most autoparts stores that I know of carry their products. And it is best to warm the seats up before applying the product. Then give the product time to sink in.

I'll keep an eye out for it. But seeing as how i just bought 25 wipes for like $4.50 I'll just use them till there gone. I've look at what the Lexol products look like and they dont look too fimilar. Are the wipes just as effective as the sprays

I really don't think the wipes are that good. Lexol is the choice of many pro's. I get mine from pepboys. It is more expesive though. I pay 8 for the conditioner and 9 for the cleaner might have it backwards. It is worth the xtra few bucks. Good luck

I just cleaned my leather seats the other day (in the cold)...I left my car running with the heat on. It came out nice, it looked a lot cleaner and felt better. I think i got ripped off, the lexol conditioner was liek 12.99 and the cleaner was like 9. It took me like less than an hour to clean and I am very impressed with the results. I just bought the leather used and it was pretty dirty, I used 70% rubbing alcohol to get some of the black dots off of the leather and then I did the full clean and conditioning and the leather looks brand new. I will try to take some pics tomorrow.

Try finding Lexol at a reduced price from a horse supply/tack shop. I've seen it at these places for sometimes half of what the auto chains charge, the bastids.

i just finished off my bottle of meguires wipes and overall, they were ok. i have fairly hard rear seat headrests due to the sun making them brittle over time, and after using the wipes after every car wash and lots of elbow grease the leather showed almost no difference. what the wipes were good for though was making my seats shiny and wet, keeping them slippery so my passangers slide around, and making the car smell a little better.

im coming to the conclusion that a bottle of any detailing product will be > then the same product in wipe form.

Don't use those wipes, they are garbage. They wont do anything other than for dusting your seats. Get Meguire's leather seat conditioner, but becareful not to keep drips on the seats cause I have noticed on some leathers it will actually change white leather really white and looks like wet spots. cleans and I think it helped make the seats a little softer. I have not done it in my new max yet.
