Scratches on windshield

What's up guys. My friend just bought a used RSX and was wondering how he can get scratches off his windshield. Apparently, the previous owner neglected to change his wipers and they scratched deep into the windshield. I don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this thread but any helpful input is welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

How deep are the scratches? You can try to polish them out if they are very light

If they are deep, then its time for a new windshield

From what you are describing, it sounds like the scratches are definitely too deep to polish out. However, some glass shops will have much stronger polishes with aluminum oxide or cesium oxide. But the downside to those is that the windshield will be affected greatly if the person doesn't know what he or she is doing with that process.

what should be done about very minor rock chips in the glass? Whenever I wash it good, I notice tiny indents all over.

I hope this question isnt answered elsewhere, but is there a specific brand or brands that are recommended? What is the price range for glass polish?
