Klasse Question ???

Besides Klasse All in One and Klasse Sealant glaze and a top coat of P21S or S100, what else is needed to do for the paint ??

I get a really good protection from the SG and AIO with two coats of the AIO with a 24 hour time break and then a top coat of P21S Carnuba Wax, Im just wondering if anything else is needed ??

Im doing my order right now for all my stuff so this is the best time.

You are goin to want to get clay, and depending on the condition of your paint, another polish before you use the AIO. Poorboys SSR 2.5 or Menzerna IP are good choices, Ive used both and liked each of them

Forgot to mention, I clay the entire car before I go ahead and do the coat of Klasse Sealant Glaze, Two Layers of Klasse All in One, then a Top coat of P21S

After that, the car looks amazing, but I am getting the hood, fenders and a Stillen body kit put on in the spring. I think I am doing all thats neccesary.

If what you said is your process, SG->AIO->Wax, then you are doing it backwards

AIO is a light polish, SG is a sealent. By using AIO first, you are just removing the SG you put down. You also should be putting two layers of SG on 24 hours apart, not the AIO

Your process should be clay->AIO->SG->Wax

But you really should include another polish between the AIO and the clay. AIO is just a chemical cleaner and wont remove swirls, thats why I suggested SSR2.5 and the Menzerna

Yea SG goes first...my bad. I wrote numbers on my Klasse bottles to remember.

So it should be:

Wash->clay->SSR2.5->AIO->SG->24hrs->SG->P21S

You were really doing KSG before AIO? Whoa, I thought maybe you might have messed up typing it. I've never heard of that before! Nice choice in products though: Klasse is what I use on my Deep Evergreen. I will eventually get around to topping the KSG with my Liquid Souveran sometime soon. I have had very good success with the Sonus line of polishes, I'll link you to a couple of posts of my car down below. As rsly said: depending on the condition of your paint, you may want to spring for a polish. Actually, I would almost suggest polishing your paint no matter what condition it's in. I mean, if you have paint imperfections, by all means you have a whole load of polishes to choose from, however, if your paint is pretty good, you can still polish with great success while using a less abrassive polish. You will then really see how relfective your car can be.
Anyways, here's a post from a very recent thread in the 4G forums:
My Post.
The thread.

Edit: If you found the first couple of sentences offensive, I honestly didn't mean them that way.
Another thing: you now have the right order of product application in your most recent post. Do you have a machine polisher (Porter Cable or something)?

It was a typo. I do it correctly

NO. all by hand.

This is the last time I did it. I looks pretty good but the first rain fall, after the car dries I see a slight bit of swirl marks around the car. Thats why I ask, should I be adding a coat of something before the AIO

Only reason to AIO twice would be to make sure you got it all covered, but it's sooo easy. Only thing is the smell, wish they could do something about that.

Wash->clay->SSR2.5->AIO->(AIO again if needed or wanted)>SG->24hrs->SG->P21S>drink favorite beverage>take pics that's a good process

Damn I love our color mang!!! Anyways: you're going to have to decide whether or not you want to hide the swirl marks, or polish them out, so that they won't "come back".
The reason why your swirls come back after one rainfall (if I'm speaking too basic, please don't take offense), is because AIO and KSG have little to no swirl hiding capability, while the P21S will hide your swirls, but due to it's durability, will as you said, reveal the swirls after one rainfall.
Getting back to the first statement: You say "adding a coat of something". By this, you're describing a glaze. This product goes on before your protective layers and hides a certain amount of imperfections. I am unsure of how long that lasts, but intuition tells me that it would last until the environment has something to say about it. IE, until your protection wears off. THE ONLY PROBLEM I FORSEE: With the products you use, Klasse namely, KSG doesn't like to bond well to surfaces not prepped with AIO (or so I am told by autopia.org, I have no first hand experience - I have always preceeded SG by AIO). Because of this: the glaze will be polished away by the AIO, and therefore might be useless for your application.
Your other option is this: You can set yourself up to actually rid your paint of the swirl marks, by polishing them out. You say you dont ahve a Porter Cable, and do be honest, it will require a lot more effort to complete. I've heard/seen some very good things from the Menzerna line of polishes. S00NR1 did an excellent job on his black 5G, and I posted the link in one of the more recent threads in this detailing forum: title is swirl marks or something. I have also heard some good things about 3M as far as hand polishing, but I really haven't read that much about it. Completely polishing your paint will definately rid your paint of swirls, no matter how many washes your car takes (as long as your washing correctly...).
Damn this is a novel. I'm going to end it now.

I dont follow what you mean. Whenever I use the SG, I prep it first with a claying and one coat of AIO. The AIO is then followed by the SG, then a time period, then another coat of SG. Then topped right away with the P21S. This process seems to last a really long time to the elements depending on how often it rains and such.
Back to the original problem. I really dont have "swirls" or "imperfections" in the paint besides knicks that cant really be covered up. That slight swirling after about a week of the elements after the AIO, SG, P21S would be nice to get rid of, but isnt 100% neccasary if Im gonna go through all the work of another coat of say the SSR2.5 and still have them.
You get what I mean ??

This might just be a terminology difference, but a polish like SSR2.5 gets works into the paint, and removed. It's not like wax where the residue left behind will do anything for the paint - it is the actual act of polishing that creates the effect.
Sorry about that - I hit enter waaaaayyyy before I was done.
Anyways, a polish differs from glazes in that glazes will actually stay on the paint in order to hide swirl marks. This is when Istarted talking about bonding issues between KSG - the glaze that you apply will be rubbed off by the AIO, however, if you don't use AIO, then the KSG won't bond to the paint that well. It's sort of a catch-22 (damn, I've never been able to use that statement before...haha).
Again, SSR2.5, as long as the polishing is effective, the swirls won't reappear. The paint, during polishing, actually gets "cut" down until a level surface appears, which is what gets rid of swirls. The clear coat is actually taken down to the level of the swirls in order to get rid of them.
Let me explain my durability statement: No doubt, KSG has great durability, but you telling me that swirls appear after one rainfall after applying the P21S lets me conclude that the "effects" of the carnuba wax that P21S is greatly reduced after it's hit with the elements. I have no concern that your car is protected.
Ideally, you'll only have to polish once to rid your paint of swirl marks, but washing techniques and other problems could lead to the addition of more swirls, and consequently you may find yourself wanting to polish again. Something like SSR2.5 won't be "applied" so to speak as if it's another step for your protection of the paint, as is what you described above.
I hope that explains it better.

Edit: I'll detail your car and get all of those swirls out if you give me a S/C kit...

This is S00NR1's thread about his detail that he did by hand. This is after a true polishing session using the Menzerna line of products, which actually are quite reasonably priced.

Sooooo the SSR2.5 will be used ONCE before the AIO and after the Claying is done ??

Pretty much its another step ? correct ?

I only skimmed through the novel you and BigLou wrote each other, but yes the process you have there is right. The SSR2.5 will remove your swirls
