Scratch and Rust
Scratch and Rust
My max is starting to show her age. I have a nice rust spot forming at the bottom of the driver side door on the inside. See pic. First off - I'm not sure why this is happening. And of course what should I do about it? The water in the pic is because it was raining when I took it. I garage my car 99 % of the time.
I also - ahem - backed into a concrete pillar. The pillar was just high enough to hit my bumper and just low enough so I couldn't see it in my mirrors. Any advice on fixing this? Pic provided too.

I think I would take it to a good body shop and have them fix it right.
I would think sal could have caused that damage. I always wash inside the doors, hood, trunk, and even the gas cap door when I hand wash my car(s).

I was my car like that too. It's odd only the driver's door is like this. I think there's a drain for water coming off the window that maybe plugged so the water just sits at the bottom of the door.
