I had some body work/paint done and I was told to wait at least 3 months before waxing but I could wash it anytime after I picked it up. It's probably in your best interest to ask the people who painted it to get a more accurate time frame. The reason I say this is because when I picked up my car the painters had recently attended some training on a new type of paint/clear coat and were advised of different wait times for proper curing. Each body shop might use different paint methods or chemicals so they would know best.

I was told to wait about 30- 90 days depending on weather. The warmer the weather, the faster it cures. I waited 90 days to be safe. I washed it with Gold Class to keep the paint clean until I could wax it.

If they use a heated paint booth then the paint should be fully cured. You shouldn't need to wax the fresh paint anyway, it should bead for quite a while. Talk to your body shop ask all the right questions.

It depends on the products they use. For example PPG has different care procedure than say Dupoint. Ask the shop, the people who prepped, mixed, and sprayed will know better than anyone else.
