How much leather is there really...?

How much of a Gen 4 Max is actually leather? I was cleaning my car this weekend and was applying the leather conditioner on the seats. That is when I noticed that on some parts of the seats it didn't soak up like other parts did. Most noticeably were the upper back panel and the side panels of the seats. Can anybody clear this up for me?

Our leather is coated, its not natural leather

Very little, if any, of the conditioner will make it to the leather

The only parts that are real leather are the actual seating area. The sides and back are fake.

With coated leather the conditioner will help, you just have to let it soak in for a lot longer time than with uncoated leather. (very few cars today have uncoated leather)

yeah, for most cars unless it's a high line luxery car, its just the seating areas that are actual leather.. and even on some models, the rear seats aren't real leather even, just a simulated leather like the seat backs, etc..
