Clear coat on the bumper?

I recently buffed out and sanded my bumpers (front and back) and for some reason all the clear coat came off the back bumper but not the front. I was damn carefull too. But my question is, is there a clear coat I can buy that will give it the shine back, or will I have to take it in to get it painted professionally. And please no bashing comments. It was an attempt to make a 200K car that was not taken care of look better. And it worked exept for the friggin clear coat. Thanks for your help.

I also want to get a bumper painted, but I know it costs way to much.

I've seen automotive clear coat in a spray can. Not sure how well it works though.

I've used it...it works fairly well, but you have to be VERY careful and spray in swift motions to keep it from dripping...

To the original poster, I would think about getting it professionally done...it shouldn't be too much as they don't have to go and color match or anything.
