Liquid Glass

Hey guys I'm trying to figure out a good way to get liquid glass polish off my ******* car. All i've tried is some dawn dish soap. It didn't work so i'm back to square one. Any ideas?

Since nobody answered I did the smart thing and called the company. They said that I'd have to use mineral spirits to get it off. Isn't that like straight alcohol and would kill my paint?

I use the stuff all the time on all my cars. Just curious as to why you are removing it?

On the older cans, it said you had to remove the wax in the process stated. Ill have to look at an current can to see if they removed those instructions. I would imagine that mineral spirits on the paint cant be a good thing, but I believe the reason for it was to prep the car for painting anyway.

I'm taking it off because the guy I bought it from is like 90% of people and doesn't need to own a black car. There are too many scratches and the liquid glass doesn't cover them at all. But don't get me wrong, they make great stuff if I had a new car with good paint I'd definitly use it. Instead though I'll have to stick with black wax.

Although my MR2 is red, its a paint job from 1991. I would give this a try once you get the LG off. Try one of those nano waxes and then top coat it with LG. It made my MR2 look spectacular and I get the advantage of a synthetic wax on top for durablity. That is if we are dealing with like brush scratches and not contact scratches.

I used LG all last year and this year I used the Nano wax on top of the LG and then put LG on top of the nano. Here is how it turned out.

Good Luck!

The bottle says that you're supposed to remove all of the wax.

Mineral spirits won't harm the paint, but I'd wash the car after using it to remove any leftover residue.

Or you could just polish the car. The polish will remove LG or anything else that's been put on.

You should wash the car immediately after with a PH balaned soap at least twice over to make sure there is no residue left (you know this is true, cause your car is black too).
