Hey guys, I wanna clay bar my car. But the idea of using hard clay on my paint kinda scares me. Then again, ive never looked into the clay bar. Any helpfull info? Thanks.

 

It's 100% safe for your paint. Get a kit from your local Auto Zone/Advance store and follow the instructions.

 

Ok. Sweet will probaly be doing it this weekend along with megs. 3 step system...just to make her even shinier!

Cool, pics would be great. You'll be suprised at how much stuff the clay bar will remove...at least I was on my 2k2 the first time I clayed.

Just remember to use lots of soapy water and you'll be fine! Clay only helps the look of your car.. no downsides

 

When it says soapy water does it mean like Dawn or car soap?

 

I'd use car soap.. dish detergent doesn't do much good for the paint..

Hey I got a question..I just waxed my car in the spring..now i know its not good to wax too often ebcuase it will damage the paint..but this claybar thing looks interesting..I love the shine ...so would it be safe to do it so soon after waxing...and how often do you claybar?

 

You can wax your car as often as you want, you're not doing any harm to it.

I clay polish wax twice a year. I wash it weekly and wax it whenever I've got time to maintain the look.

You do not want to use a clay bar after you wax, wait til you're ready to do the complete wash clay polish wax process.

 

I just clayed today (first time claying) and DAMN car is so so so so smoooooth now...feels awesome.

 

best aftermath of claybar is the smoothness ... really does wonders.
