California Water Blade anyone use it?

Ok I got a brand new Charger and it's black well brilliant black pearl technically. I like how it works but have been debating on using it because I don't want to have swirl marks or scratches from it. Also at this NY auto show I went to they had another brand blade that looked like it worked great.

I use mine all the time. Never had a problem with damaging the paint. Just make sure you rinse it off before using it.

I haven't tried any of the other brands so I can't speak for those.

I've been using it for about 5 years. great product, just make sure you're running over water the whole time, if you miss a few just wipe with a cloth, you dont want to run it over dry areas.....after a while you'll get the hang of it.

I used this for 3 years now. Just make sure you clean it before you use it.

Been using one for about 1 year....love it but it always makes me cringe at the throught of moving something over the paint.

To be honest, I will probably be switching to Meguiar's Waffle Weave Water Magnet soon and see how that compares.

I work at a detail shop and we've been using these for several years. They work great. You'll want something else though because they don't get everything. We have a cool newer version at my work. Most have a purple hard plastic handle. This one is all soft rubber, including the handle so It wont mar the car if you bump it with the handle plus it bends more to conform to the car.

Sounds like a good idea. Any link to where it's available?

I've got one & it works great. I usually wipe it off with a microfiber every couple swipes. As long as you use it properly & carefully its a great tool.

I just recently bought one. To tell you the truth though, I still prefer towelling off especially since using the hose-off method leaves very little remaining water, BUT, I can't argue that it works fast

I'm gonna go & get one of these today (jelly blade), even though I still like the air hose & microfiber method.

i picked one up last week. Works like a champ on the hood, roof, and glass. Like they say above, you'll still want an absorber around to really dry everything well. get one, you'll dig it

I use it every time I dry the car. It works great on large flat surfaces like the doors, hood, trunk, roof etc.. but keep a towel handy to get the spots it misses.

I'll be honest, have been very close to get one, but always go for The Absorber (twice), it does a very good job.
However, seeing the good reviews and that it's fast, I'll give it a shot and use both at the same time.
Will post my results on my next wash.

I bought one a few weeks ago due to all the positive reviews in this thread, I must say I love it so far. Still need to keep a towel around for tight areas obviously (door handles, etc) but on the broader surfaces it works great.

I just bought one today and I agree with everyone else. It works great on flat surfaces but I kept a microfiber towel handy to get the tight spots it couldn't dry. It is nice not to have to wring it out like a towel. I definitely recommend it even though it's kind of expensive. No waterspots FTW

I use an old wiper blade and use a MF towel for spots it misses. Works just as well for no cost
Doesn't seem to scratch either.. my paints in pretty good condition.

Due to the reviews here, I got one today...for $8 at Target!!! I went to Walmart and they had one called the Jelly Bean for $19, but to me they look and feel the same.

I will keep my 'absorber' towel handy as recommended in this thread. Thanks for all the information here, should be a sticky...

Been doing this for 10+ years. Now use MF instead of cotton towel.
